Truthfully I think that's pretty awesome :) With foreigners marrying Filipinos and wanting to move to the country - I find no problem in that whatsoever. I also think that foreigners that do that are cultured and open-minded.. which is how the world should be, in general. Haha. |

Love cuts across all known boundaries.
We Filipinos respect interracial (or mixed) marriages and welcome foreigners with the kind of hospitality unmatched by any other countries of the globe. |

No problem here with me. I have cousins who are married to foreigners. And my sister-in-law is married to one, too. As long as they are okay, that's fine with me. |

we are hospitable people and will always be. people in my country are used to mixed marriages. they will welcome you alright ,your wife is a filipino, it is then on how you mix and blend with the community. as long as you get along with them there will be no problem. know your limits. good luck. |

Some of us feel different, especially when this foreigner says "the same way us we here in the UK now resent so many immigrants now moving to the UK."
Everything should be reciprocal in foreign relations. If we are resented when we go there, you can expect to meet with resentment, in retaliation.
It is also due to the absence of anything that could be construed as "qualifying" your statement, that only "some" Britons resent Filipino immigrants, and you are not one of them. |

Filipinos give high respect to visitors,
esp foreigners. You become the center
of attraction. |

No problem... My wife is married to a foreigner ☺. The most common question she is asked is if I have a brother or friends that they could marry. The influx of foreigners at the moment is from Korea, and yes, there are complaints about some of them being stuck up (pointy nosed by local description), but as long as you treat the filipinos as fellow beings, they are easy to get along with. |

I don't give a damn on foreigners marrying locals. I don't think they're someone greater or lesser of a human, so what's the big deal? |

I'd say life in the Phils. will be what you make it.
If you're planning on trying to assimilate, mixing with the locals and take in the fantastic culture of the islands, you'll fit right in. Nobody likes haughty and/or arrogant people.
I've lived there with my wife (Filipina) of 11 yrs, and I had the time of my life! Can't wait to get back there! |

Oh I know what you mean how British people resent foreigners moving to the UK. Maybe it's because they resent muslims and such and can't tell the difference between a muslim or an islander or asian so that foreigner feels like a minor. I guess people are naturally territorial. My father is American and he loves islands but he always feels like a minority because lots of Hawaiian's, Chammorros, etc. don't like white peoples for some reason...and they always stare at him lol. Whereas, I feel like a minority in the States because for reasons like, they think I'm mexican (lol which Im' not) and some resent mexicans for some reason so I feel like a minority. But of course, not all people are like that. There are a lot of white people who love islanders and asians (such as yourself) and there are a lot of islanders and asians who love white people (such as myself).
P.S. I'll be online tomorrow so talk to yah then. |
