Does anyone else hate overpriced Mc Donald burgers when you can get cheaper better Ramli burgers ?

with tax a mc chicken cost like rm 5.30 and mc chicken is the small burger. one can easily get a double cheese special from a ramli burger stand for like RM 4.30. the best one is infront of taylors main campus in subang jaya.
Additional Details
okay there seems to be some confusion here...let me just try to clear it up...

not all ramli burgers are RM 4.30, only the most expensive....i think the price ranges from RM 2.30 TO RM 4.30 depends on what you want on your burger.

And yes the Ramli burger i buy, the guy keeps the cheese and mayo in a cool box...

If cleanliness is not an issue if u choose the stall wisely....the guy i buy it from keeps the stall very clean and after making each burger he collects the leftover oil and disposes it....don't hate the burger because of irresponsible stall owners.

Yeah, I love Ramli burgers! < this comes from the mouth of my various co-workers whn we were dead hungry. NO other stalls/restaurants around & it's already late.

But I don't hate Mc' D's.
The benefits of living in Malaysia is there are so many option/varities of food to choose from.
HATE is a strong word.

Not many places hv. Ramli burgers besides operating for long hours like Mc'D's. The Ramli burgers @ my working place (nearby Kerinchi LRT Station, KL) sells the burger for
RM2 - chicken/beef + fried onions + tomatoes + cabbage + toasted margarine buns + pepper black sauce + chili sauce + mayo. + mustard
The above choice is typical option, which is actually a great value. RM2!!! If double cheese special RM4.
The guy even throws in extra veges. or add this that or minus with no special charges (except for the meat patty).

Besides since it's an easily set up stall tht often doesn't require the operator to pay for biz. license/location rent/etc. so OF COURSE Ramli burger should be must cheaper by default.

As for hygiene, so far mine's no prob. The guy always clean the scraps & etc. & wipe. He even wears gloves when doing the packaging. Only during frying & etc. he wears another or no gloves. It's as clean as in Mc Donald's (hey I've work behind the counter before).

But don't lah sampai hate hate Mc'D's.
They are more expensive bcs. it's a franchise biz. WHETHER they earn a profit or not they still hv to pay for the building & misc. rents & also to their big big boss (the owner of Mc'D's.).

Mc D's value meals are great esp. during wee hours or in places where there are practically not many other food places around. Dah lah ada drinks, fries, sauce etc.

Dude, McD's burger has the quality.

Do u know Ramli burgers are dirty, their meat are low quality meat?

Do u know that their beef is actually buffalo meat which are very dirty from India, sometimes their meat even consists of staples, glass n other small small stuffs.

Do u also know how dirty is the oil they use to fry the Ramli burger?

If u wanna eat clean food, dont mind to spend a few more bucks to eat McD.

It's true that McD's burgers are overpriced (plus, they seem to shrink in size over time) but honestly, I would rather have McD's over Ramli burgers any day. It's the crunch of a cartilage piece that puts me off of Ramli burgers.

I ordered beef, not bones (or other inedible parts)! But then again, I guess it goes with the price.

Im still prefer McD..

difficult to say la brader... they (McD) spent a lot for marketing commercial... , electricity bills, land rental, franchaise tax, and so on and so on... no choice ma...

And... Ramli Burger at rm 4.30? My god, that's consider expensive already.. I think the standard price is about rm 2.50 to RM 3.50 only.

Yes, Ramli burger is definitely a better choice burger than the overpriced McDonald burgers. One will save a lot eating them than purchasing burgers from McDonald.

However, you can't hate McDonald, they have to price them higher because they have most cost to incur like the running of an outlet.

i love burger Ramly. if you are so concern about the oil that the seller use to fry the meat patty than go to nearest Tesco/Giant and buy a pack of Ramly Burger patty and fry it at home. McDonalds' price are more expensive because they have standardized the Q, and for promotion/marketing. i have many friends who are x-McD staffs..and..mmmm...not all worker follow the standard haha. btw i love filet o fish. so, tepuk dada tanya selera.

I go with Gabby The Snail's answer. To be honest, the best burger is still to be found in Burger King and Carl's Jr., no doubt!

Price wise? Well, if you're still a college kid looking for cheap alternatives, may I suggest that you buy one stack of those Ramli/ Asli /Abdul Kudus burgers and flip them at home instead? They're definitely cheaper and you can add your own ingredients to spice them up! (talking through experience here)...

Anyway, I've been avoiding flesh/meat as much as I can lately... unless if I'm really in a situation where I have no alternatives. Look out for healthier food!

Taeya is right. Those street burgers are NOT 'meat patties'. They're made from cartilages, bones, intestines and those internal organs (and fats like skin, etc.) ---probably that is why it is tasty to some, but not others. I've actually visited one of their factories... and once you're there, you'll probably never want to taste another 'crap patty' ever in your life again.

Does Ramli have mayonnaise and mustard on its burger? Does Ramli place its cheese and mayonnaise in the fridge/ cold box at its stand? If cheese and mayonnaise are left outside at high temperature, bacteria colonies shall form and multiply at alarming rate. By the time you stuff into your mouth, it could be millions. Then you wonder why you get stomach ache or ceret beret. Being cheap is good but if your health is compromised, what's the point?
