NO! You'll marry because you love your beau.
Any material things are not important at all. |

I don't think that it should. There are really some beautiful rings out there. What me and my fiancee did was for our engagement we opt to get the gold bands and saved the money for a traditional stone ring for the wedding ceremony. It was Worth the wait it was beautiful.
good luck:) |

If you are going to have an engagement ring, I guess it should have diamond or another stone of your choice. Otherwise, it would be just like the wedding ring. Women who have both rings wear them together. Those whose wedding rings have stones encrusted all the way normally don't. So, it is really up to the 2 of you, right? |

Mine doesn't want one and if she did she would want jade. American women can tell you all about cut carat and color. ICS ratings .
They know. Still it feels good to give. It's not something you should do alot though.

Traditionally, engagement rings have stones. However, I don't see why you can't have whatever kind of ring that you like. You and your fiance know the significance of it and you're the one who has to wear it. Get what you like. |

Um, no. Women who demand diamonds are the type of woman I wouldn't marry if I were a man. |

Not necessarily. It all depends on the woman's taste or preference as she gets to wear it. The ring is only half of the commitment you both promise to undertake and uphold. The other half is fulfilling that commitment at some later date. I mean, marriage. |

Diamond(s) definitely should be there!
The First Diamond Engagement Ring
The first recorded diamond engagement ring was given to Mary of Burgundy by her betrothed, Archduke Maximillian of Austria, in 1477. Few details are known about the ring itself, but diamonds were considered at the time to have magical powers relative to love, purity, and fidelity – the same characteristics they symbolize today.
In the late 19th century, extensive diamond deposits were discovered in Africa, effectively making the gems more widely available and cheaper for the general public to purchase. Because of the sudden abundance of diamonds, designs became more elaborate and intricate, and more brides-to-be began to receive diamond engagement rings. |

No. I know many people who have different stones, and some people who have no stones at all on their ring. It's a symbol of commitment, and as long as it is special to you, the ring doesn't have to fit a specific mold. |
