i want to marry someone who is the same as my ethnicity
coz you would not get confused with their culture and i like to talk to someone who has same language as i am and can understand same language so i don't want to marry someone who is foreign
you know, it is really hard for me since i am in america and me not american :-o |

Why does it matter, where the guy is from, or what race he is?
If you like him enough, and think you could have a good future together, then most cultural differences can be overcome.
There are cultural imperatives that could, and in my case have, caused problems, but they are not universal, and an open mind, as well as a calm tongue, can get you past those bumps.
You could marry your best friend from down the street, whom you knew since you were a small child, and still have problems.
Everyone is an individual, therefore everyone does not think exactly the same. To use intercultural imperatives and nationalism to decide who is your best choice for a mate is just plain wrong.
Follow your heart, not your eyes or nationality. There are attractive people in all countries. Ugly ones, too.... |

I just want to marry a man I am in-love with. Foreigner or not, as long as we love each other unconditionally, I will marry him.
But, if I were given a choice, I'd prefer Pinoys... they're much more 'malambing' and thoughtful. Also, there'd be no cultural adjustment and it's always good to be with someone who's got the same background you do.
Practically speaking though, many women prefer foreigners especially Caucasians for their $$$ and yeah, race improvement. Caucasians mixed with Pinoys produces a good breed...lol (hey, those are the words of a friend who recently married a Caucasian...lol) |

Every man or woman in the world coming from different backgrounds, cultures, ethics, religions, etc., is a unique piece in himself or herself. You cannot judge anybody by his or her country and cultural background. Yeah, there are certain places and communities of which people have quite different estimation from the rest of the world. But when two people are in love then nothing really matters. Language- no bar! Cultural background- no bar! Religion- no bar! Even distance between them has no meaning!
But, well, as you are concerned with only Filipinas and their preference whether they prefer to marry men of their own country or of some other one, friend, it all depends upon whom they marry. I don't think that any typical Filipina sees a dream of marrying a foreigner all the time. She has got other tasks to do too. But one might be intending to marry a foreigner just for the sake of money, sex, or to change her fate or fortune in some or the other way.
However, Filipinas are really graceful and thoughtful ladies. You all Filipinas over here, whom I know, deserve a true appreciation! :)

I'm a Filipina. Is it my dream to marry a foreign man? No.
Is it my dream to marry this foreign man I'm currently seeing? Yes. Not because he's a foreigner, but simply because he's great. |

No, I am a Filipina, single.
Never dream of marrying a foreigner. You cannot choose who you will love and be with. If you have been fortunate to meet someone, I guess nationality doesn't matter. Marriage is after all about love and long life commitment not a matter of race. |

Yeah I think some Filipino women would want to marry a foreigner especially the white ones. Firstly, you know because they have the genes which again most filipino women would prefer their children to have. You can see the evidence everywhere where women would want to have light skin and mestiza looks. Plastic surgery, skin bleaching, hair straightening/coloring etc. etc. they just go for it like crazy. I'm telling the truth and if you don't believe me then why are they doing this to themselves? Secondly, some Filipino women think that if they would marry a foreigner they would have an instant access to whichever country that they would want to go to. Thirdly, security reasons. Let's admit that now more and more women work for their family and their lard-*ss and no good at all husbands who are busy drinking with their buddies and spend here and spend there attitude and not to mention financing other mistresses. There are many more reasons behind this "phenomena" but one thing is for certain that no relationship is perfect no matter how you try to work it out. It all depends on how you look at it. |

no, it's not my dream or it wasn't my dream to marry a foreign man. i'm already married to a filipino guy. i love my husband and i'm proud to have chosen him as my husband and my best friend.
i now live in california, so there's a lot of choices... i'd still go for a filipino guy because:
1. we both understand tagalog
2. we can relate to filipino culture, therefore i wouldn't be stressed on how to act in front of his relatives and i don't have to teach him how to "mano po" to my parents in case we get married.
3. i don't have to tell him to take his shoes off before getting inside the house - most foreigners don't care that they're tracking dirt inside the house.
4. i can freely teach my kids about the filipino culture, language, and heritage without having to defend myself or offend my in-laws when we speak tagalog - that they don't understand.
besides, i'm proud to be a filipino and i'm happy just the way i am. |

not really. nationality rarely matters. This is based on what i know, observe and hear from other Filipinas. Most Filipinas still prefer to fall in love and marry for that reason. nationality might be a consideration because it will affect where the couple will live, the culture and religion, but we don't seek out foreigners because it's our dream to marry one. most foreigners, especially americans believe in divorce so much that it affects their level of commitment. marriage is permanent for us, so what matters is love. we dont seek out foreigners. most of us anyway. |

It's been my experience that Pinay do not prefer foreigners nor dream about meeting one. Thankfully some do and most of the rest are very civil about it. It really isn't the big deal people make out of it. We all fart in our sleep.
Heartburn is going to get an ulcer trying to blame everything on the government. I never let mine slow me down. Why does he I wonder?
Since I have been here I have been asked twice by someone to find them a foreigner. Both were uneducated and barely spoke English. Not that that means they can't have one but let's face it more sophisticated lady's wouldn't ask. They just do it. Like mine did.
Most Pinay have learned that like it or not this is their world and their life. They can either make the best they can or sit on their cans dreaming. They are much to busy living to sit and dream of American war heroes.. Like me.
Most of the on line girls are just looking for money but don't really want a foreigner. The few that are serious are stepped on by the scammers and most never hear from anyone. At least anyone serious. Lot of feeble minded American children on there just like here.
No I think your premise is wrong and unfair to the average Pinay. |
