The Philippines has been influenced by the Spanish, Americans, Japanese, Chinese, Arabs, etc... The Spanish ruled the longest since the 16th to 19th century, then the Americans for a short period. As you can imagine, people inter-married which is why filipinos/filipinas vary in their looks. A very hot filipina looks like a mix of Chinese, Spanish & American.

The original filipino were called "aetas", short, brown people.
