This is my boyfriend, for sure. If I cook him something without rice (a nice bowl of pasta, for example) he just looks at it in confusion, and goes to the kitchen for his rice. He mostly uses a spoon and fork, but is also quite happy eating with his hands or using a knife and fork.
And he loves to eat with a dipping sauce made from soy, chillis and garlic (as opposed to that awful sickly pink sauce). |

Do you always need a spoon and a fork to eat your meal? YES
Do you think any meal that does not have rice is just a "snack" or "merienda" no matter how heavy that sandwich or salad is?
NO
Is it impossible for you to eat, particularly fried foods, without "sawsawan" (dipping sauce) or "ketchup"?
NO
Do you try to finish every morsel of food on your plate, because your parents taught you that you shouldn't waste God's graces?
YES
When you have guests over, do you make sure that there is no shortage of food and drink, otherwise it would be "nakakahiya" (embarrassing)?
YES
Are your party buffets feasts? And is it impossible for you to understand cocktail parties which only serve finger foods?
NO
Filipinos have a culture that pretty much revolves around the kitchen, so I have to ask, Filipino diner, is this you?

Do you always need a spoon and a fork to eat your meal?
*** I don't agree with that...because in some parts of the country people don't really use fork when eating. " kamayan " is best practiced specially in the provinces.... ☺ |
