they want to show that they can do what men can do.
as a kid, i smoked to show that i'm a grown-up, but i stopped after 5 years at 30 sticks a day when i learned that one should not depend on any stimulant or depressant to control one's mind and body. Learning to smoke was easy, quitting was very hard.

i'm not against women's rights for equality in other aspects.But putting toxins into their body is more harmful than when it is to men. Bc we are built that way, the evenly distribution of fatty layers protect them from the elements than to men but this fats also serves as a catch basin of poisons that accumulate thereby they are more prone to cancers.

I am not a smoker nor do I drink but I have a number of women friends who smoke.

The last time I looked, It was not against the law to be a smoker and I think no one is breaking any laws per se by being a smoker.

Personally, I don't smoke. I've probably only tried it twice in my life and that was a long time ago.
I hate the smell of it, i hate what it does to you, it's a bad habit and waste of money.
Inhaling that smoke into your body kind of disgusts me...
I prefer non smokers but I'm not going to judge someone on whether they smoke or not.
i know some people want to quit but its really hard for them..

It is much better if people don't smoke, most especially if you are a woman..smoking adds years to your face and skin, (makes you look older than your actual age) makes the teeth yellowish and unsightly because of the nicotine, plus smoke pollutes the already polluted environment. Ladies, if you want to maintain your beautiful skin, youthful appearance, smell like baby's breath, quit smoking.

Well, I'm guilty here. I smoke but not when my family is around or when I am in a crowd. At home, I always sit outside the house to smoke. Makes it better for the living room to be smelling nice, devoid of cigarette smoke. Although I am a smoker, I don't like to breathe in the smell of cigarette smoke. It chokes me. Crazy, huh?

I've tried to kick the bad habit out of my life so many times but, I admit all my efforts to do it was not really 100%. Fortunately, my husband and my only son don't smoke.

Smoking is a habit that is dangerous to both the smoker and those around him/her. For casual relationship that is tolerable since one doesn't stay long with the smoker. But for something that has to be serious, a non-smoker would be way better.

How bad is its effect? I had a cousin who died at a tender age of fifteen due to lung cancer. Reason? My uncle used to smoke when she was still young.

My uncle nearly committed suicide because he know he was the reason why his daughter was bed ridden for more than 2 years.

Me too. I need to quit. It is hard like people said it was, not because It's addictive and I can't quit, I can't quit because I don't try hard enough or don't want to enough and it's become a bad habit like biting your nails or cussing. You have to want to quit. Not that this has anything to do with answering your question. It's midnight and I'm still at work and I think it's sleeting! I've never driven when it's sleeted because it never does. Maybe I won't die. =]

But i refuse to date anyone that smokes. I just cannot be around the smell. the older i get the more it bothers me. I am so glad i am with someone that doesnt smoke.

My ex husband smoked Marlboro's like a pack a day. My livingroom always looked like it was on fire. I stunk everyday.
I was choking all the time. I eventually divorced him.

It's ok, as long as she takes care of secondary smoke, and is courteous enough to ask permission when with company who does not smoke.

However, when it's kissing time and being romantic, smoke breath and the tar stain can be a turn off for non smokers.

Eh, smoke if youwant to, I dont care. And I work in a cancer center. I'd date a smoker I'd date a non smoker. Who cares.
