When I was there men had to wear long trousers in certain parts of the hotel. The only rule I'm sure about is that if you want to come in through the front door, you mustn't be wearing sandles!! I was ushered in round the back!!! |

Yes, some 30 years ago. - and it was both magnificent and very relaxed. Smart casual wear was acceptable then and I'm sure it is now!
Enjoy your visit to the full! |

As long as you are dressed in clean clothes it doesn't matter but they will not allow you to wear flip flops on your feet. |

Yes I've been. Raffles has a wide variety of bars and restaurants within its grounds. The bar I went to served peanuts and the shells were strewn on the floor and had a casual atmosphere. There is no particular dress code for that one, but in the restaurants, yes, it is definitely smart attire. It is one of the classiest hotels in the world. Have fun. |

It's pretty hot in Singapore. Casual wear will do but not sleeveless shirts, collarless shirts & flip flops (I meant while in Raffles). |

i travelled to singapore a lot as my sister migrated there wt her son. been chk-in to the raffles for once + always there 4 food in their various restaurants. while chking in, u can wear shorts or whatever u like... but when going in to a nice restaurant inside raffles.....u should wear at least smart casual n gentleman in long trousers. ladies r fine wt e'thing even shorts. but they do hv outdoor pub / bar inside raffle 2... over there u can definately wear shorts. |

Smart casuals (not jeans or sandals) are acceptable.
Ladies no shorts or revealing blouses.
Been to the old (very pukka) and the new. Well you know how it is.
Enjoy yourselves and take lots of pics. Trip of a lifetime. |

its perfectly fine to dress casually and travel round in s'pore. coz the weather here is summer all yr round... its better to dress in t-shirts, bermudas, sandals, flip-flops... anything that is comfortable and cooling to u.
by the way, lately the weather in s'pore is a little wet... and there are rainfalls in the afternoon, so do bring ur umbrella with u. =D
Have a great trip here! =D |

The only place you really need to worry about what you wear is if you plan on visiting places of worship; for example, mosques. A woman is expected to have her shoulders and ankles covered, and to be dressed modestly. A headscarf is appreciated, but not always compulsory. The dress code at Raffles is "neat casual", which pretty much covers the entire island/state. Just be prepared for the humidity; which is unrelenting. So if you are wearing trousers, you may want to ensure they are light weight. Enjoy your trip to Singapore. |

are you talking about the Raffles hotel or Raffles The Plaza that can be found on 88db, i guess you can dress in what ever you feel comfortable with, no need to worry on dress code.......
Enjoy your stay in Singapore....... |
