Several answers referred to "Rolando Navarrete", the former boxing champion who now has a brain disorder. Rex Navarrete is the Fil-Am comedian. He can be very funny, especially to those who come from the West, or locals who are exposed to foreign humor.

Philippine-born and -bound locals though will probably find it a little difficult to laugh spontaneously. Humor requires a solid grounding on the culture of the comedian, and vice versa. Sometimes his humor will fall flat when the listener is a local.

Rex Navarrete is a fil-am stand up comedian not the boxer...
I heard him thru Magic 89.9 when he visited the Philippines..
Very funny guy... I had lots of funny skits on different websites..
Inday and the superfriends was one of the funniest and the packing business.. hehe

Yes, he is a very funny guy. I like watching his shows. He's very original and he knows how to make fun of even himself without seeming distasteful. I have some of his cds, he is such a riot!

Navarrette is a fil-am comedian raised in the Bay area. He's done quite a few stand up routines there, and his most well known one is Badly Browned. He essentially gives filipinos who were raised her something to relate to upon their trials and tribulations in the US as a fresh immigrant from the Philippines. He takes most advantage of the Phil Accent, which can be humoursly misheard at times - the ch sound, as in chapel is often pronounced as the ts sound, as in bits. So, among the most memorable skit is his telling his parents about his teacher, Mrs. Scott. "Mommy, daddy, you hab to come to Mrs. Scott's class. You hab to see her teach." Remember, ch sounds like ts... I recommend him highly as a comedian.
