Ni hao literally means you good. Ni hao ma means you good? Either is acceptable. The tones are important.
Ni is said in a raising tone, like a question. Hao is a dipthong. First it drops, then it raises, so it is a longer sound. It sounds like how? Ni sounds like Knee? Ma has no tone. It is very short. |
