It is not a question of how brave Malaysian soldiers are. Any soldier that is about to go into harm's way & says that he is not scared is either a liar, crazy or both.

Our soldiers will go if they are ordered to. Simple as that.

Since it is most probably a maritime operation, the Royal Malaysian Navy PASKAL commandoes will be sent.

For a rescue operation to be sucessful, it will depend on a lot of things eg: the element of surprise, the quality of the foes, weather conditions & many more....not to discount Murphy's Law - what can go wrong will go wrong no matter how well planned the operation is.

I hope certain Yammers would at least show some respect to our men & women in uniform. These people are putting their lives on the line day in day out to ensure we sleep peacefully every night - they watch & patrol our borders, airspace & seas, they train all the time & etc.
Also, please do not confuse the Armed Forces with the Police. Members of the Armed Forces pledge their loyalty to the YDP Agong, our king.
Please do not insult them by insinuating that the Armed Forces are the same as the Police. They will beg to differ.

I've never heard of Malaysian army involved in any such kind operations either for Malaysia or for United Nations.

Malaysian Politicians have pride in making use of police forces to suppress the own population in stead of showing their skills, where they are needed

It's not a matter of guts, you guys don't have the expertise or logistical support to pull it off.

I trained your guys at Butterworth a number of times. Don't get wrong, it's nothing personal but you don't have the support mechanisms in place to pull something like that off so far from home.

If they are as good as the Navy SEAL, they can do anything, Navy SEAL are one of the best in the world. And if our special force went through their training, I guess they have a chance

Our malaysian special force, as far as I know, are nothing like our army, with rusty M-16 and the stupid Styer that nobody use (Styer have now got to A3 with tactical attachment capabilities)

Our navy special force are well armed, and well trained. But I dont know how large the force is. We may need some overwhelming force to fight those retarded somilian
