because the price of sending a text message was so cheap. For the price between P15 to P30.00 you can send unlimited number of text messages good for 24 hours. |

Everybody texts too much. Not just the Filipinos. |

Because only in Philippines is there a huge disparity of sms and call rates. Add that to us Filipinos who are romantic and very thoughtful we just have to say "hello" to everyone we know.
Where I am, sms and call rates are almost the same. So rather than spending time clicking, we dial and say all that we can in a minute =) |

Because it cost less. Call charge in the Philippines is expensive. |

as a filipino, we text so much because to stay with their kabarkads and family.

Its a lifestyle.
The Phils. is the text capital of the world because around 50 million text messages are sent every day.
Filipinos can afford to text all they want because text messaging rates in the Philippines are very cheap. |

the philippines is the text capital of the world because
1.) almost everybody and anybody has a cellphone (even maids, drivers, janitors )
2.) almost everybody knows how to text
3.) can write messages in their phones without looking, while driving, eating, watching tv, sleeping (yes I'm exaggerating) lol
4.) filipinos can write text messages so fast
like what the other people said, text messaging here in the philippines is very cheap. we have unlimited text for one day and even for one month!
also, we Filipinos always want to keep in touch with our friends, family and loved ones because we value them so much. sending a text message to someone means that even if you have a busy life or miles apart, you still think about em. |

Text messaging is far cheaper for Filipinos than making phone calls. Globe, one of the largest mobile carriers in the Philippines, charges between 6.50 and 7.50 pesos, or 15 cents and 17 cents, per minute for a voice call. But text messages cost only 1 peso, or 2 cents, per message. What's more, prepaid plans offer as many as 65 free text messages per load. |
