First, you learn the language, and then you... just... talk...

With extreme difficulty.

I can't tell the difference between "good afternoon" and "beautiful Japan" ☺

sometimes like this:

"nasaan ang aking lapis?" (where is my pencil) (Im serious. i really talk like i came from the '20's)

"oi, san medyas ko?" (hey, where's my sock?)

depends on my mood..hehe

your question is a little too broad. here's my answer to another interpretation of your question.

in tagalog, we talk like humans too : ) our sentence structures are very similar to western sentences. Subject - verb - object.

Easily. Can I help you? (May maitutulong ba ako?)

you can learn how to talk in tagalog if you want to.

and speaking it is simpler than speaking english, for you just read or pronounce as is, the letters are the same as in english, no chinese-type characters, no silent letters, no confusing diphthong, no nothing.

for example:

pa-ano kayo mag-usap sa tagalog?
(how do u talk in tagalog?)

If you mean, how to learn it, I can only explain to you how I learned it. My first language is English.

I learned it by exposing myself to it. I surronded myself with people of similar interests and listened closely as they spoke the langauge. The association of something I liked (the interest) and the language kept my focus at same time drawing me closer to the language.

I also got hold of local comics, picture association with words and actions (as represented in the drawings) helped me understand the langauge furthermore.

I also watched Batibot as it showed how some words were used and how they were pronounced. It was similar to Sesame Street, in fact, its considered the local counter part of Sesame Street. I used the same principle as what I had remembered as a child: I learned to read and spell English from hours of watching Sesame Street. (The power of TV).

My advice is, don't overwhelm yourself. Take baby steps. Books and other paraphernalia may help, but I still believe in actual exposure were at least more than one sense is being used.

Now if you mean, how is it spoken, well, most words are from Spanish, Chinese, and Muslim or Arabic origin, so the words that seem to sound lke these words are most likey pronounced the same way.

Tagalog must not be mistaken as Filpino by the way. Tagalog is a dialect, Filipino is the National Langauge of the Philippines, as it is often thought that its Tagalog.
Filipino is similar to Tagalog, however it is more dynamic (as it it constantly changing and evolving).

An example, the words "Titser" and "guro" which both mean teacher. Note that Titser sounds like teacher. It has been derived from its English counterpart but it is classified as Filipino and "guro' as Tagalog.

Most words (take note NOT all) are pronounced as how they are spelled.

I hope this helps. Good luck! Happy Learning!

say it according to the spelling, not like the english language.

if we say "pagkain" it's like "pahg-kah-in"
not. "payg-kayn"

In our language, it has a lot of A's.
Here's an example:
Nag-aararo ang mga magsasaka habang nagkakanta.

Our words are longer though you speak them as fast as your language does.
Here's an example:
"Yo, what's up?"
"Hoy, kumusta ka na?"

we have several patern in tagalog. if you want to show an action, start with the verb, like:
"aalis na ako" > i'm leaving
(aalis-leave, na-'already', ako-me/I)

"pupunta ako sa Maynila"> i'm going to Manila
(pupunta-go, ako-me/I, sa-to, Maynila-Manila)

same thing as you talk in your own language..

Mr.Knowitall
Well, of course you have to study. It would help a great deal to have some Phil friends to practice on or with. Then you will know if you are saying things correctly. It is not an easy language to learn, but lots of fun.

We actually don't talk in tagalog.

We sing in tagalog.

Our language is very melodic.

You sing it, not talk it.
