too bad, steaming coffee or Red Bull is my only effective solution.
How about sleeping early in the night instead of YAPping extra hours? Sweetie i know YAP is super addictive but lack of sleep will make you drowsy next day. Ok, that's one thing hard to resist so limit your YAPping hours.
Scarlet is right, chewing on apples can help too. Let your mom stock apples in your ref. Munch in the morning. Slice one or two and seal the pieces in air tight container or wrap neatly in foil so it won't discolor. Bring it with you to school =)
Otherwise, let a classmate scare or pinch you big time. it should keep you awake, lolz. |

I close my eyes. If there's a bed, I lie down.
If I can't go to bed, I drink coffee, really hot. Or chew mint candy while delivering kicks left and right in the bathroom when there's no one there. If there's anbody there, they usually kick back, so I watch out. |

Get up from your seat if you can and move around. The more you can move, the more you will get your heart rate up and this will send more blood to your brain. You will get over the sleepies. If you can, take a short jog around the building or up and down the staircase. This does work! If you are forced to sit still, do some isometric exercises. That gets your blood moving too, but more so your mind. Sitting still will take a good bit of mind over matter type work in order to stay awake. Hope that won't distract you if you are in class =) Good luck! |

Drink caffeine but to use caffeine successfully to stay awake you have to remember that a caffeine high is followed by a low or increased drowsiness when the caffeine wears off. If you are going to use this substance to stay awake, remember to keep putting it in your system until you finish whatever you're doing |

i remember we use to hit our toes with rifle butts to stay awake, but you can't do that. The other answers are good...coffee(lung ching green tea is more potent in caffeine or mountain dew softdrink than coffee) apple, moving around, stretching or just change seating postures, enough sleep,(not the drugs, you make me laugh).
But according to nutritionist, we mostly feel drowsy in the waking hours because we have not eaten a good breakfast, no breakfast, too much breakfast and the amount of carbohydates and proteins we consumed. Since protein is a brain stimulator food, it should not be out of our regular menu, just enough, about 3 match box size of sliced meat per day lest we become obese and of course carbohydrates. Taho or soya bean products are good source of protein, but less sugar is the best. |
