Its not a tour package. M gtg wid 4 frens. We paid on our own for hotel and flight. I was told by my frens tat @rd SIN$200 will be needed for the places we gtg to visit...eg, Disneyland etc... We have collected 500 HK$ frm each to form a petty cash - to pay frm there wen we go group dining. And yes we are taking public transport. I heard about the 'octopus card', a card that is for public transports like the MTRs etc.. Its HK$150. We are supposed to top up wen the value is finished...And wen we return the card, the remaining value will be refunded to us. .Shd I get it? Apart frm all these expenses, how much shd I change?

Depends on your tour package.If you are on a tour package that includes accommodation,
$1000 SGD/person for a 5 day trip inlcuding a day tour of shenzhen is possible,assuming basic shopping,dining at middle class restaurants and taking public transport as much as possible.
$1500-$2000SGD if you are thinking of doing more shopping,visiting theme parks,fine dining and taking taxis everywhere you go.
Accomodation in HongKong is not cheap (HK$800-HK$2000/night) Hence,it is best for you to take up a package including accomodation.
I would recommend you change SGD$1000 first,then use your credit card or go to the money changers (plentiful in HongKong)when you need to make additional purchases. |

i would change like. 200 sing per day (: which would make it to be about 1000 sing. for all the fun and food (: well. that is assuming all ur hotels and stuffs have been paid for. cause dont forget u'll have to pay extras like transport and all. |
