1. It's develops a common sense. E.g. for geography, at least I know where US is and what the weather is like.
2. If you never try to learn history, how do you know you don't like it? |

Academic subjects, English and Math mostly. Some Home Economics like cooking and sewing buttons. The rest is just general knowledge.
Non-academic....social skills, competitiveness, boy-girl relationships...I flunked in those... |

eh, actually when they don't apply in my job, they certainly applies in my everyday life.
Like ... why my baby basil change to the same direction even though I turn it around everyday.
How much force to apply to my fuel pedal so it doesn't utilize more fuel than it needs.
How much appreciation I need to give to our forefathers for inventing PC > Internet and eventually YA.
And oh, add maths certainly contributes a great lot to my job now. (And when I'm calculating a bargain at the market)

Nothing much of what you learn in school can be applied on the job.
Only things -use common sense , be alert , be fast learner . use your brain , observe , fit into society and many other ways.
You will realise society is the best teachers in the world.

Reading, writing, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division is what I use everyday at work. A little bit of home economics too like cooking, laundry and cleaning when I'm at home, and that's about it. |
