No, I think it's more appropriate to call her Cik Patricia or Cik (Her Sirname).
It would be more formal you know. |

"Patricia" is an English name, but often used by non-English in Malaysia, especially the Chinese. As such, you do not preceed the given name with Miss, Mr, Ms, etc., but you do that with the surname/family name. (MIss Lee, Miss Wong, Ms Oi etc.)...So, if you do not know the surname, just call her as "Miss" or "Ms". If you are familar with her e.g. a working in same office/colleage/friend, you can call her "Patricia". "Pat" is reserved for those very close and intimate. And, to call a lady "Miss Lee" is somewhat formal ...and you do not use "Miss" when addressing her in letters ...you use "Ms" ....If obviously elderly and or senior in rank to you, call her "Ma...am"
Use "Cik" only for Malay unmarried girls .... |
