Do I eat pork in front of Muslim friends? Since eating pork offends their beliefs, I would not do so. I certainly would never ask them to try pork--it would be very disrespectful to do so. It would be like saying that there should be no reason for their religion to forbid the consumption of pork.

Eating meat in front of vegetarian friends is another issue, but in any case I do not ask my vegetarian friends to try meat. Once again, it is about respect, not tolerance.

If you invite Muslim friends to your home and serve pork without telling them, I'm surprised you have any Muslim friends left--or any friends at all for that manner. Man, that would be so insensitive and barbaric and disrespectful!

I do not serve pork to any muslim of my friends.If I have open house,my muslim friends are invited, I wil make sure the food are cooked by muslim chefs.,together we eat muslim food wth my chinese friends.It's insulting and offensive to do such a thing!No not my stye!

No i do not eat pork. either in front of muslim friends or just in general. I dont really like it. No i am not muslim i just choose not to eat pork. When i go out i always make sure that all meat served is beef.

and the only veggie i know is my mom. it does not bother her to see ppl eat meat its jsut her choice that she doesnt. And i would never serve pork to someone who did not eat it. thats cruel aside from the religous conatations that has.

I'm a muslim too, i don't mind eating at the same table with someone who is eating pork / non-halal foods.But I will feel VERY offended if that person asks me to try eat the pork...

I will eat meat infront of a vegetarian person only after asking them if it is ok for me to do so.I will never,jokingly or not, asks them to try the meat.

3rd question is not applicable as I'm a muslim.
But if there is such people around then...sigh...don't know what to say already..

let me answer again.. Its an insult to your muslim friend if you ask them to try Pork CHOp.. How can ppl or your friend ask you to eat something that they know it's against their religion... Its very insulting towards me as a muslim..

It sounds rude and not polite. We shouldn't treat our friends like that, especially in this multiracial country. We must respect the others so that the others respect us too. But I don't mind if others eat beef infront of me and ask me to try.

yuna, somehow i find this question(s) rather offensive, but i will answer to them anyway.

personally i have never done any of those.
but this, is not because i am tolerant. i am inclined to think this is a question of morale and ethics. i will see not doing any of these (especially the second parts of each question) as basic respect one would have to another person, more if you are living in malaysia.

what, on the other hand, i call tolerance is, if a muslim friend would be happy for me to share a same table knowing that i have pork in my meal.

Are these questions trying to tell or inform that there are mean people who do sorts of things or are these questions to instigate (or proposing an idea) to do such mean things? And what type of answers are u expecting some people would give?
