Try these few places I've located for you, you may not have time for all of them but you can visit other places of interests some other days. So choose the more interesting places which may delight you more and go for it.

- Busy district for shopping malls in the central of Singapore

- Famous park for tourists, with cable cars to Sentosa
6) Suntec City
- A big shopping mall
7) VivoCity
- Singapore's very own, largest shopping mall
8) Chinese & Japanese Garden - (MANMADE)
- A garden with chinese lanterns and where lantern festival is held
9) Singapore Botanical Gardens - (MANMADE)
- Singapore's very own botanical garden with lots of plant species
10) Singapore Zoo - (MANMADE)
- Visit the zoo for some asian species & its special events in Night Safari
11) Kranji Racecourse
- A horse racing course located at Kranji
12) Clifford Pier
- With our Singapore's most signifying country mascot, The Merlion, prominently standing in front of One Fullerton

- A hotspot where many local & foreign Indians gather, indian spices & salons are easily seen along the roads
14) Little Thailand @Golden Mile Complex
15) Jurong Bird Park - (MANMADE)
- The only bird park in Singapore, located at Jurong's area
16) Bugis Street
- Many youngsters' fave hangout place for great shopping, dining & watching movies etc
17) National Library
- Just located not far from Parco Bugis Junction shopping mall, read up new magazines, books or other reading materials for FREE
18) Sim Lim Square
- The BEST place for any IT or electronic gadgets with variety of products and great bargains, prominently located in Bugis area @Rochor Canal Rd.
19) Funan IT Mall
- 2nd place where you can purchase any IT or electronic gadgets.
20) The Esplanade
- With great sea views and night views, fireworks only take place here on every New Year & Chinese New Year.
21) Singapore National Museum
- Require admission fees to visit the museum
22) Crocodile Farm

- Was formerly a fortress used for the defence of Singapore

- Well-known food paradise, also notoriously known for its red-light district activities

There are a range of shopping centre from the very expensive to the cheaper ones. Expensive - Orchard Road (dozens of them), Vivo City. Cheaper ones - Chinatown, Bugis, Marina Square. (btw, expensive is a relative term. Prcies are about one third of that of New York, Paris or London).

Good food - almost everywhere. Best around Clark Quay, Boat Quay areas.

Places of interest - Singapore Bird Park (world renowned), Sentosa (island resort for swimming, Butterfly park, aquarium etc), Singapore History Museum (must go), Singapore Zoological Gardens. Tours available from most hotels.

A day at Singapore Zoo is good, I have only been here a day though, so I dont know of anything else!

I don't know if there are any cheap places to stay. Mostly hotels I think.
Places to visit are :
Sentosa Island and Mount Faber by cable car.
Jurong Bird Park
Ming Village Pottery
Cruise around harbour and bay at twilight
Chinatown
Temple visiting - many in or near Chinatown
Markets and shopping.
Raffles Hotel- a must just to see it and have a drink.

Hi - we did this a couple of years ago on the way back from Australia. I really enjoyed Singapore, it's an incredibly diverse place. Dependant on how long you have, there are lots of things to do. However be aware of the heat, it stopped my husband from doing a lot of the things we wanted to. The minute you walk out the door you start getting all sweaty! We were there 2 and a bit days and managed to explore quite a bit. I found Chinatown brilliant - we even bought a couple of handmade suits for my husband, he was measured up in minutes and the suit delivered the next day! We stayed on Orchard Road in the Phoenix hotel, which was an option with the travel company, we were upgraded to a business suite, with a massage chair and the most humongous bed! We did the gardens, the opera house, the MerLion, a cruise up the river, lots of shopping, a tour on a bus, visited some temples (you must do this, they are absolutely stunning, but remember to respect their traditions by removing shoes.) We had Singapore Slings (but not in Raffles) and found ourselves so exhausted from the heat and walking that the two evenings we just wandered down Orchard Road and found some outside cafe's. I would suggest if you are doing the night safari to do little in the day so you aren't heat exhausted. Definately take a cruise up the river though, the buildings are amazing and you get to see great places to stop off and eat. Have a great time!

Day 1

Arrival at Hotel
After check-in at the Hotel, relax and unwind and get to know your immediate surroundings by strolling.

Evening

Cruise in an authentic river bumboat and stroll along the waterfront promenade to Asian Civilisations Museum for dinner.
Visit Boat Quay or Clarke Quay after dinner.

Day 2

Morning
Breakfast at the Singapore Zoo's Pavilion-by-the-Lake.

Tour the city's attractions â€“ Little India, Arab Street and Chinatown (featuring turn-of-the-century architecture and shopping bargains).
Afternoon

For lunch, choose any of the 4 season's Hotel's themed events, including the "Streets of Singapore" buffet.
Spend an afternoon of health and wellness - Join a group tennis clinic with our resident coach at the city's only air-conditioned tennis courts, a pilates or yoga session, or enjoy a pampering spa treatment.
Visit Jurong Bird Park, Asia's largest bird sanctuary.
Evening

Ride a trishaw from the Hotel to Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Sip cocktails and dine outdoors at Burkill Hall, an 1886 British colonial bungalow located in the National Orchid Garden.

Day 3

Morning
Breakfast at your leisure before beginning the day's activities.

Spend a day on Sentosa Island â€“ visit Underwater World, Dolphin Lagoon, Butterfly Park (with 1,500 live butterflies), Insect Kingdom (with 3,000 species of rare insects) and Fort Siloso (a historical landmark of Singapore's colonial past).
Afternoon

Lunch on one of the island's three beaches.
Gather for group team-building activities on the beach at the Four Season's.
Evening

Savour cocktails and dinner at Chijmes, a beautifully restored cloistered convent and chapel.
Tour Night Safari.

Day 4

Morning
Breakfast at your leisure.

Go to the pool or play a round of golf before your departure.

You are correct....the Night Safari is a MUST and so are the areas of Little India and Chinatown. The jewellery factories are fascinating whether you want to buy or not. The cable car ride is beautiful.
Take empty suitcases as the problem is shopping but not what to buy but what NOT to buy!!! Wonderful fabrics, silks etc., and embroidery.
I stayed at the CARLTON HOTEL which was excellent and quite near to Raffles.

These days Singapore is a highly developed modern city but there are one or two places that you can put on your itinerary. A favourite of mine is Little India (take the MRT to Little India Station and then walk towrds Sim Ling (high tech equipment) and the sprawling Little India Shopping Complex complege with fantasitic food court. The Noght Safari and Sentosa are a little touristy but Ok. But you could tke the bus out to Changi Village and then a ferry (ab 30 mins) to one of the islands or Malaysia. Chinatown is a nust - for two or three hours - you could stay at one of the hotels such as Hotel 1929 or Chinatown Hotel BUT REMEMBER Singapore isn't cheap!!!! Those days have long gone......

P.S. If you get to Wellington New Zealand be sure to stay at Beethoven House on Brougham Street for a memorable experience.

Firstly, Singapore is a safe city, clean and transport is always easy accesable especially the MRT. Food is just amazing in Singapore and you can find them almost every corner and cheap too. Accommodation - Hotel 81 chain suits all budget and even in the city itself you can find one at Bencoolen Street. Shop around Bugis Village is good especially my favourite - Parco Bugis Junction. Not to be missed is the renowed Night Safari and Sentosa Island. Happy Holiday

For cheap places to stay, is 20-25 singapore dollars per day ok with you? For back packers, there is this Achew hotel in the corner of Leang Seah Street and North Bridge Road. It's airconditioned but small, just meant for you to stay a night. Don't expect top notch service.

For place to visit, go to Tiger Balm Gardens & Botanical Gardens. They have free entrances.

Just look up the names.

Singapore Visitor

Food, shopping, sight-seeing, nightlife (eg. clubbing/drinking) are recommended.

Hostels are cheap, if not you can try budget hotels.

Places you should visit are Orchard Road, Little India, Chinatown, Colonial District, Singapore Zoo, Jurong Birdpark, Night Safari, Sentosa.

Singapore is a "Food Paradise", so eat all the local and other cuisines that you can! Plus, Singapore is also a great place to shop - so "shop until you drop!" ... Enjoy your stay in Singapore!

Majestic Hotel next to 'Chinatown'.
Chinese run, cheap & clean.
Rooms either with shower or without (share on floor)
NOT a flop house.
(This info is about ten years old admittedly, but it was a great place).
I hear they've opened a Museum & Art Gallery. It should be great, full of old Buddhas and Eastern antiques.
People knock Singapore but I thought it was a wonderful place. The people were very hospitable and friendly.

LOTS to do in singapore!

Sentosa (the island) is AWESOME.. beautiful beaches and so hot!! on there is pink dolphins (v rare), monkeys, lizzards, tropical forest, fountail display!

SHOPPING is the thing Singapore was built for! More Mall per square mile that anywhere!

Mustaffa for gold, Funan for IT, suntec city for the Cinema... Ngee Ann City (pronounced Nee Ann City) has the most AMAZING food court with delacacies from around the world! and INCREADIBLY cheap...

AND you MUST try the HAWKERS.. old fashioned food courts dotted around the city... Cheap as chips and amazing food....
