I suppose the only way you could possibly know, for sure, is if you find out that what they told you isn't/wasn't true.

So far, my intuition has been spot on where hubby and kids are concerned.

Usually a liar would give very detailed or precise information. Even if you ask him/her to repeat, he/she would not falter or alter the story; like he/she's got it memorised and every details carefully thought out.

Normal people are never so observant with such great memory of details and structured flow of thoughts.

you can feel that when you talk to them..
usually they will avoid to look into your eyes..
and tend to do something suspicious..
like rubbing their hand, touch their nose etc..
and some of them have very smooth move..
dont get fooled!!!

...well-lies usually come out of a want>or greed for something they don't have-and when it hits you-or in other words when they talk to you-they contradict themselves-so what is that?well-when they say one thing and then they change it and say another-kinda like a John mcCain-lol-jus kiddin-dats personal joke>but yeah-they say things that you can't make sense out of because they want to confuse you for some reason-or-they are jus confused-either way lies get in the way-truth adds good thoughtys andfeelings into ur life-and lies-take them away.Read up on some Logic in wikepedia/etc.it will help-

Expert liars can look straight into your eyes. Try looking at his/her hands, if the fingers or hands keeps on moving, there's something wrong about what he/she says.

Well, if you see on their attitude or their way of talking, you can be wrong about their lying. Try making a random guesses (must be connected to the lies though) and try making a conclusion all the way. If their responses according to your conclusions, then gotcha, you got them. Try 2 or 3 random guesses and conclusions next. Try talking to their friends too but not their relatives as you can be too suspicious. Basic liars usually tells a lie to their surroundings and you can find the differences in them as you find it. Then, ask them whether their lies is true or not. Try not to be harsh. They usually does not confess at first but their will.

Their lips move. Seriously though you don't always. There are people who are so adept at lying that you won't know whether they are lying or not.

Intuition maybe and some bodily movements and actions that are dead give-aways.

ADD: Thinking rationally now, i believe there are different kinds of liars. There is the smooth liar that someone here is talking about. He/She would lie through his/her teeth and would never be caught unawares. Such a person would never admit to telling a lie and would come up w/ more fantasized truths just to prove his/her point.

And of course there are the fumbling liars who are so bad, they would be caught lying even before they open their mouths, lol!

Can I easily spot these? The first kind, no. These kinds of people are the ones that I despise the most and would rather have no friends than be associated with them.

when he/she s talking to you without looking at your eyes or face..plus ..you can also see that he/she sweats lot than usual..hehe
