I'm catching a flight next week to the Philippines. What should I wear?

Obviously your not a experienced traveller. Well to the Pines that is. Flights especially your flight is going to be long,uncomfortable and mentally draining yet you want to look cute, for who? The strangers you'll be sitting next to. Also its not a good idea to arrive in the Philippines wearing something sexy or revealing to much skin because trust me when I say its not a good idea for a foreign woman to do that. Just attracts unwanted attention. Instead you should opt for casual clothes that are suitable for a tropical climate such as the Pines and that the clothes you wear are comfortable and easy to move in. Don't wear mini skirts,short shorts or tank tops. You get my drift. Instead wear simple shorts and a simple tee. Can't go wrong doing that at all.

Also when you arrive at the major airports in the Philippines there will be hundreds of people waiting outside for who knows why but they are just there and I'm sure your not going to appreciate alot of the locals checking you out. But in the end its up to you what you wear but take it from someone who has been there and dress accordingly. Best of luck with the trip,you really did pick a good place to holiday.

A truly attractive girl will look cute no matter what she is wearing be it a bikini, evening gown, suit or a baggy ratty tshirt and worn pants, and un-cute girls will still be un-cute no matter what they're wearing. The moral of the story is to focus on being comfortable.

since it's summer here and it's really hot hot hot in the philippines, wear something light and comfy.
bring a jacket, poncho or something to keep you warm while in the plane. or ask the attendant to bring you a blanket :)

wear your muu-muu on the plane! then change into your geriatric polyester neon green pantsuit outfit before landing in the PI!

I have just returned from Cebu. The plane was cold so wear sleeves, they give blanket and cushions. Take a pen to fill out paperwork. Lose shoes at securuty you have to take off. Leave them off on plane. Once there shorts and tee shirts and sandals. I always smile and they will always smile back especially pretty girls.
I am returning to Cebu shortly and may live there as it is so wonderful. Micky - staying at the" Ford's Inn" A.S. Fortuna St. Banilad. Have a good time!

Just denim pants and T-shirt... Just bring a long sleeve thin coat with you just in case you get too cold in the plane or in the stop overs.. You definitely won't need it in the Philippines...

Are you sure it's 27 hours? I have been flying to the Philippines for 15 years now from the UK and the flight is only about 17 hours.Are you sure you didn't hit the wrong key?
Wear loose comfortable clothing and don't worry if it's not at the cutting edge of fashion.Comfortable beats trendy for flying any day.

Just wear flip-flops, white tee, and jeans for it's really tropical there. Try to go to some of their beaches and you'll be amaze.

A pair of loose-fitting jeans, a shirt with collar and sleeves, socks and athletic shoes.

Stay away from the sexy spaghetti outfits and flip-flops. yuk !

A bigger question would be "What do I need to be aware of that I might not know now"?

1. Airport taxes in Phils - the last official act you'll perform before leaving a terminal to board the airplane. About 750 pesos in Manila, less elsewhere.
2. Paying for public toilets
3. No TP in public toilets
4. No running water in public toilets
5. Airport taxis - Office inside the building adjacent to the baggage claim area. Safer and cheaper. You get the bill and pay in advance, and they record the taxi number. Taxis in the queue will cost more and it's more of a hustling deal.

From my experience, it could be pretty chilly on the plane but in Manila, it's humid and hot. I suggest wearing a cute dress and flip flops (easier to take off for inspections) with a zip up sweater (for the plane). Have fun!

I always wear pants with lite knitted shirt and slip on casual shoes while flying and once I am settled in, I wear flip flops sandles, t-shirt and shorts.

Also, 750 Peso travel tax is required when departing. If you are a former filipino you can get a waiver for Immigration fees of 1,620 Pesos by pay a 200 Pesos fee at the Department of Tourism in Luneta or at the service desk at the airport when you depart.

Ohh I love airplane outfits.

Usually I wear leggings with like a long shirt and uggs or flip flops or something.

Or do sweatpants with a tank or fitted tee, that's always comfy.

Juicy tracksuit, maybe??

ms sampa, you should wear above-the-knee skorts and a sexy cami tee. then have a nice hoodie - with pockets - for your iPod & other small stuff. then finish it off with comfy sandals. don't forget to freshen your make-up shortly before landing.

Dress in light layers and the airplane might be colder or warmer and it will be very humid when you land in the Philippines.

Demin skinny jeans... with pumps (stylish but in this season) nice spagetti string top... wear ur hair in a cute lil ponytail and put a pair of flip flops, comfy wooly socs, and jumper in ur carry on loggage. and voila! xx
