Of course dahling, you should go for Aristocrat's chicken barbeque first and foremost in Roxas Boulevard. As in after your arrival at the airport dahling.

My fiance is Filipino, and he made the most wonderful dish for me the other day. Pancit Lug Lug (I think that's how it's spelled.) It was so good! Give it all a try!

When you land, don't try anything too adventurous at once, you can do that later. You have to remember that it is hot and humid here so better grab some bottled water or soda.

If you're really hungry, the safest choices are fastfood joints like Jollibee or McDonalds or Pastry/Bakeshops.

Afterwards, you can try the local delicacies like Adobo, Kare-Kare, Sinigang (soup), Lechon, Halo-Halo, or Fear-Factoresque delicacies such as Balut, Fishballs, Balut Penoy, etc.

Boston Mark is right DO NOT drink the local water. And in my experience (filipina mother) stay away from the dinuguan (pork blood stew... it's supposed to be similar to Britains Black Pudding but i wouldn't recommend it) and Balut (fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell).... just thinking about it makes me wanna throw.
