I don't get why people hate wowowee??

I dislike the host. That's basically my biggest reason.
Second, I think that they make such a wild show of the less fortunate people by making them hop around and look dumb. If they truly wanted to help people, they would do so through less scandalous means.
And for the record, I do not enjoy Eat Bulaga either. Wowowee and Eat Bulaga are both shows that compete not so they could entertain, but for the sole purpose of gathering higher ratings. I would prefer shows with at least a modicum of sense.
But then again, that's just my opinion. Sorry. ^_^

If i really had to pick between these two shows then I'd go for Eat Bulaga. Wowowee is really stupid. You don't even need an IQ of 30 to be able to participate in it especially with their meaningless songs, and stuff. And what sucks is that since media plays a vital role in the Philippines everyone just gets sucked into that freakfest where people sing and dance to that song boom tarat tarat. It doesn't even mean anything! What's more is that they instill a sense of dependency on those less fortunate. That's why those who participate in it just rely on programs like those thinking that that's their only road from poverty. Some of them don't even go to work anymore to line up in those contests they offer because in wowowee they claim to help the poor by giving away money. When they finish their money they just go back to line again and participate in those silly games. If they really want to be of assistance they should not give the poor fish but teach them how to fish... help them help themselves.
The same goes for Eat bulaga, although they don't just give away money. At least they have those games where contestants get to think a tad bit. And they have multi-talented hosts who truly entertain the poor people who watch with their singing and their comedy.

I don't know but somehow i think the quality of entertainment had degraded for the past years.

The shows put women in reveaing clothes and have them dance like they are stripping. If that is fun, I say the Filipino people had become pathetic being.

I was born in 1969, i used to watch Student Canteen then. That's the kind of stuff that the pinoys need. Educational, entertaining, and clean fun.

What ever happened to the Philippine society, I hope and pray that those times would come back.

yeah, but people hate eat bulaga too! not intended to be sexual in any way?? how about mariposa and the way she dances. the way they ALL dance! that's not supposed to be sexual?! the dancing AND outfits. i think it is! it makes people look stupid. they make people do stupid things to make money. people do the stupidest things on the 'doo doo doo' because they want to be chosen. &they only choose the most rediculous people! so people feel they also have to look rediculous! you see what people do to get on wowowe! dozens of people were killed because of it!

though i'm all for giving money for the poor, and i have teared up from the show before, i can't help but think that they are only using the less fortunate people to gain more ratings. they are taking advantage of the country's poverty so that they can get more viewers!

I love the show!
Even though I am not Filipino and don't understand the language 100% , it is great entertainment for the entire family.

(I understand Tagalog about 90%).

it is a good show because you get to see people with big smiles on their faces even though they live a hard life. it is a very entertaining show not only because of the dancers and the hosts but because of the different talents that these ordinary people have. you'll also see how filipinos truly are family-oriented.

other stations might be insecure for bringing some bad issues bout it., while some people might be affected cus it also happens to them and they hate to realize that.

i dont watch wowowee often but, one time it made me cry., people who joins the shows are so true.

i dont like willie but somehow he's the master of the show so he might be the reason why its also good.,

the show is fun., especially so when contestants show their talents... its funny., haha

zzz... homer loves wowowee... homer loves the poor... homer loves... hmmm... beer... zzz...

I think that it is an entertaining show. They have unearthed some talented people. It is good to see some of the poorer people win some money and prizes.
The compere can be a little mean to some of the contestants but he does it sometimes to get the audience to sympathise with the contestant.
I don't think that the dancers are revealing at all. Overall I would rate it about 8.5/10.

i think i like the show, except that it's too long.

I don't watch it regularly but It makes me smile every time I see it in Filipino store. I think it's fun, but I could see why some people don't like it. I think they think it's corny, but that is part of Filipino humor, which I like to watch from time to time.
