My husband is Chinese. I love him very much ~ he's my soul-mate. He is the most unconditionally loving and smartest person I have ever met. His father is very funny and is always cooking for his family. His mother (we have a hard time getting along) but she is a great person and just worries about her son marrying this crazy American!

Most of his family has moved to the USA from China - cousins, aunts, and even his very old grandmother. She still loves to garden! They are all wonderful people and very hardworkers. I also have had MANY Asian friends... don't worry about what others think of you as a Chinese person. You know yourself better than anyone ;)

It's a little difficult to get beyond communication differences and cultural traditions, but after that point... friends for life!

Honestly though, I wouldn't ask that question here... people can be very rude and impolite.

And frankly, China would be a much better place if some damn foreigners were kept out of your beautiful country.
A lot of laowai are nothing but scum back in their own countries. But because they have money, many Chinese idolise and revere their bad behaviour just as long as they can get some money out of the fools.

i'm chinese myself and i disagree with some of the customs and cultures in china.

one thing a i don't like about some chinese people is that spit loudly in public; it's very disturbing. another thing is so many chinese people smoking; over half the country smokes! also, i disagree with the eating of dogs, cats, snakes, etc.; in america, those are our pets!

i'm sorry if this answer causes any controversy or any other offensive ordeal. ^^;

I never been there, but always wanted to go. As for me, I don't think very favorably towards the Chinese/Communist government, but have nothing against the Chinese people as a whole.

Hi dear! I am a frequent visitor to China and at the very first day in China I was stunned first of all that it is quite different than we used to think about it. Yes Chinese people are simply the best, they are caring, helping, innocent and very much easy going. I go to China for my business as far as business concerns yes they cheat or try to cheat, but is common in other countries of world but as whole I love China and yes specially food that is great. One problem in China is common that is communication but is same for everyone, many Chinese people know English language but they hesitate to speak in front of other local people, I hope this problem will be finish very soon, because Chinese wants that their children can speak English. You people are doing great, keep it up.

i think china would be a great country to visit.. i love differnt cultures espically because im australian and we don't really have a culture. My brother is married to a korean .
Don't worry about what people think. Im sure they will be excited to be there, and very interested in your way of life.

Your government needs to review a few finer points with regards to human rights, the persecution of the falun gong, farming bears for their bile, web censorship and various other issues that I'm sure you are no doubt aware of.

oh well, first thing first, Chinese (from China) can't speak good english, that's obvious.

Secondly, i don't mean to critisize you people, but one of my friend just came back from a trip to beijing,china, he told me that the people there are very rude.

Another thing, China people are kinda over obsess with their looks/physical appearance. Once, i saw a documentary from discovery channel, it was about how crazy those china people wanted to become someone else. Plastic surgery (mostly unauthorized surgeon) all over the place, and there was this girl who wanted to grow taller by undergo some sort of bone extension and it didn't turn out as supposed to be. Her calf was badly infected, awww...so gross....

i always wanted to end up with a chinese girl for a wife,im asian as well but im here in the US,seeing all these latins and white chicks (u won't believe how hot they are!) didn't change my opinoion in a bit,of course eva longoria is an exeption.iv'e been to china as well and had a hard time going around for people barely understands me when i talk,but it was nice,i like china as much as the people,particularly women.

I have been to Shanghai and Beijing and I had a fantastic time in both places. I do not speak any Chinese but found it very easy to get around in taxis and trains. The food was good and the people I met were very interesting. I enjoyed learning about the rich culture and history. The country is growing and moving forward very fast.

I am an American college student in Shanghai. I like China very much. It has very many interesting places and people. I like Beijing, but it is hard to get around because the taxi drivers do not know where many things are. Beijing is also very busy.

However, when I was in China, I found many thing were controlled by government.
Internet access was controlled, as well. You can NOT watch many Hongkong and other capitalism web site, right?
I also found it is very difficult to find old Chinese book. I heard that China burned them when Cultural Revolution (文化大革命).

it's depends on individual.. most chinese give priority to make money only either in a good or bad way. they also not so romantic and very rude.

China is an interesting place. I was there last fall. It was a challenge not speaking or reading Chinese, but there was always someone gracious enough to direct me onto the right train, assist with accommodations and that sort of thing.

Food is great, people are wonderful, and the culture is amazing. There are so many beautiful places to see and I can't wait for my next Asian trip. China ans Indochina are the only places that interest me not that I have been there to visit.

Take it from someone who's lived in china for a year. I get this question at least 5 times a day. "Do you like China?" "Do you like Chinese Food/People?" Chinese people seem to be very self-involved and always curious about how they are viewed by the rest of the world. I'm sure this person asks the students for whom he finds apartments for the same questions too. When will you stop asking this question???!!???! (Trust me. It gets quite old)

first of all i married a chinese woman.......good move. the food in china is delicious, the manners of the chinese, americans should learn. the work ethic is what the united states used to have. i loved being in china and can't wait to go back.
