if your sending that much money to a foreign country and you don't know how to do it something seem very strange. You should have a bank account in thailand and then transfer the funds to that account here. if your sending it to some girl, don't do it. |

go to the bank and send it - every banks, different cost, different currency (if you will send that money to thai's bank with thai currency). will take 3-10 days
if you need to send it right away go to Western Union - In UK, you just can go to post office - there's a different cost depends how much you wanna send. |

I sent £1000/month to Thailand by SWIFT transfer at my bank(nationwide) all banks will do this.Take in your passport, receiving bank details including acc name and number,BIN number,BIN is the Bank Identification Number, the thai bank will tell you it.I know Siam City Bank is SITYTUBK,but they all vary, the money takes about 5 working days and costs £20 flat rate,a lot less than Western Union. If you need any help contact me.good luck |

if you're an older man and its for a young thai girl who is promising to love you forever and have your babies, don't bother |

Don't send it all at once (if you're doing it all by mail, obviously).
If you do, someone might steal it all before it arrives at its destination. |

you can send by your bank to their bank if they have a bank account. it will cost you £30 and the bank in Thai will also make a charge.
Western union or moneygram is quicker, your friend needs to take ID and to use the PIN number you will be given. It will cost you over £45. More if you use a debit or credit card.
Sending cash by post is dangerous and it is likely to be stolen. |

Make it safe, send by telegraphic transfer from any bank to a bank account in Thailand. Do you have the details? |

Send it by swift, but first you must have a designated account number and name in a bank in Thailand, either yourself or someone you are giving your money to. I've worked in Cross border payment for ten years, and large clearing banks in Thailand clear more than 5 billion USD a day. Cost-wise, is same everywhere. Sending cost is from your ordering bank of origination, then if you send direct from UK to Thailand there's only receiving bank, or what called beneficiary bank charge which in the whole industry is averaging about THB 500 for that amount you send. Since it is not equal or above USD 20,000 you don't have much of the problem with the central bank, otherwise you must have documentation proving the reason of the payment.
Why don't you ask your bank in the UK. Be careful about one trick, some banks in the UK will convert your GBP in UK with really bad rate, otherwise you get better rate converting to THB in Bangkok, that is if you can negotiate the rate. They usually give you 4-5 basis point more for European currencies.
Thai banks are not operating in the jungle like some of the answerers above might suggest.
Otherwise, if you don't trust Thai bank, there's HSBC and Citibank large branch here as well. Try them if you like. |

if the recipient has a bank account you can send it by your bank ( HSBC use world pay) cost is £21 and you have the option of sending in Bahts or Stirling. The other option is Western Union. |

Your options are very limited for that amount of money. Do nout use a uk bank as they will question why you need to send so much and where you got it in the first place. They will also give you a very poor exchange rate. Western Union is really your only option. I think they will also question this amount at the other end. Definately do not post it. I posted £40 not very long ago and it got stolen so £10000 will def. go missing. I got to stress too like alot of other people on here. If this is for a woman do not do it. £10000 is a few years wages for the best paid thai workers. |

If its for a lady, (don't fall for that old trick), don't do it even if she's promised to 'love you long time'!!! |

I'm living in Thailand at the mo. A friend sent me 20,000 via Western Union 3 months ago. I think that's the best way to go. They charged him 3,000 Baht though, so I assume they'll charge you 1,500 Baht.
You give Western Union your friend's name and passport number and they issue you with a password. Then you can rock up to W.U with the password and your passport and collect the money in cash.
Easy. |

You can send it by Moneygram and can do this at any Post Office or Thomas Cook travel agency. It will cost you approximately £40 to send. |
