I don't think so and I hope not. You should quote your source when you come out with a statement like that.
BUT a lot of the answerer's really should do some research on AIDS itself and the way it spreads. Don't forget that Africa itself only started with a handful of victims and now it has spread world wide.
1 infected bar girl 1 customer per month = 12 infected customers.
12 infected customers go home to the wife/girlfriend = 12 more infected.
12 infected cust. visit any 4 bar girls now we have 48 infected bar girls and so it goes and goes.
AIDS takes some time to be diagnosed so medical clearances mean nothing. Being a Catholic country works for the spread of AIDS--no safe sex allowed. |

out of 91 million people in the Philippines only 12,000 have HIV that is only .1% of people. Where as in Africa there is 922 million people and 83 million people are effect with HIV which is 11%
So that would be a huge HUGE leap for the Philippines to make in that short of time, especially since PI has better Knowledge/education and use's safer sex techniques then Africa. So in conclusion i dont believe it will get as bad as Africa, but the % could rise in that amount of time, but not at 1% a year. |

Yes, but before HIV can invade and contaminate our country, I am sure there's already a cure for that.... Virgin Coconut Oil! |

What book? Who is the author? But for now, I would say it's False. |

You should reference your reading. And I think you're a troll anyways. The PI will probably never have HIV as the extent as Africa, Thailand, or even the US. Mostly due to the low number of time a girl, even a hooker in the PI has sex wth a different person per month is so low, less than 1 per month on average. |

Is if True? Probably...
Interesting book (i'd like to know the Author of your book), Philippines is a country much like Thailand where there is a lot of foreign people coming in, mostly the gay tourist( AIDS/HIV is used to be called the Homosexual TB)... And as far as I know there is more reported cases of HIV/AIDS in that country, but the Thai government is doing something about this by promoting SAFE SEX EDUCATION (use of condoms). However in the Philippines the " catholic church" is being such a stupid hypocrite about the use of condom as if this things does not exist. So yes it's possible but also preventable. |

no bec, even the dancers in bigger cities in Philippines are required to have a health card to show to their customers if they are disease free or not. It doesnt mean they cant work as dancers but they need to have these health cards to let the customers know what they are carrying (diseases). If they dont have these health cards, clubs, bars wont hire them... One way of preventing aids... And pls dont compare us to Africa. Africa is a large continent with many countries in it while Philippines is only a country and a small one. So, therefore thats the most dumbest question i ever heard...
Its like comparing a county to a country..... DUH |

Can't say if its going to be true. We have to wait for 10 more years to be able to find out. |

No, it won't happen, not even in 20 years... we are STILL a catholic country after all |

i highly doubt that with Africa's current population who are HIV and/or AIDS positive... we are currently at <0.1% (yes you read that right, less than point one percent)... that's not even exponentially possible... therefore, you're speaking bollocks |

Probably not. Ten years is a long time and advances in medicine occur every so often. |

Hm... I doubt it, most Filipinos are conservative, most prefer to have sex only after they got married. Maybe it has something to do with the Church's teachings, Philippines is a Christian country after all, a serious one at that.

well, in areas that people arent too educated, it is likely. People dont know or even have the means in some places to get condoms or practice safe sex or even know what AIDS is. its sad, but hopefully with education it will turn around...but most likely, yes. and that is a sad thing. |

It is a possibility devoutly to be wished! Come damned earth! This common whore of mankind!
For in that book of death, what AIDS may come .....
I daresay the FDA should also check that book before allowing entry into our shores! |
