I would like to bring back the early days of Ferdinand Marcos' reign. Though he committed a lot of mistakes during his second term, I believe that his first term was one that really did a lot for the (positive) reputation and economic standing of the Philippines.
If not him, I would probably want to bring back Fidel V. Ramos. It was during his time that we reached the status of tiger cub economy, and he was one who really strived to develop successful international relations with more powerful nations. He saw to it that the veterans got their due pensions, and Ramos paid attention to even te littlest details of national interest. |

Ferdinand E. Marcos (of pre-Imelda days) - the vintage Marcos of his first 300 days in office! |

I go for Ramon Magsaysay too because he listens to everyone regardless of their status in the society. He's open and down to earth.
But my top pick would be Marcos. I think many of the things he did was right. And come to think of it, his cronies and the other officials were among the people who abused their power. I do not understand why people blame only Marcos. I'm telling you, the EDSA revolution wouldn't have been a success if Marcos did not hold his army men back. Remember he ordered maximum tolerance?
Just take Imelda out of the picture and he will be the greatest president in the history of time... Or something like that. |

I would definitely go for Ramon Magsaysay.
These are the following reasons:
-He was very close to the public. He held meetings in provinces.
-He effectively crushed the rebels.
-He promoted Filipino things like by offering the local wine to foreign visitors.
-He was a good person. |

I'll go for Marcos. Though they say that he is the BIGGEST corrupt president. I still believed he has the brains, he has the guts to enforce power, he made filipinos be disciplined and think twice before doing a crime. Though I am not in favor of he's martial law, I would still pick him. |
