1) If we say God is all powerful and that there is nothing He can’t do, then we have created a dilemma. If God can create a rock so big that he can’t lift it, then there is something he CAN’T do. On the other hand we can’t say he can’t create a rock that big because there is another thing our ALL POWERFUL GOD CANNOT do!
2) Saying there is nothing God cannot do is a fallacy – God cannot tell a lie, do evil, make someone sin. It comes down to God’s character and essence. God cannot act outside of his essence or character.
3) God by nature (essence) is an orderly, logical, rational, wise being. (gk word for the WORD – logos, means the wise expression or thought of God). It is where we get our word logic from. God created (spoke the world in to existence) the world in wisdom, so Psalms says.
4) For God to create a rock so big that even he can’t lift would be irrational for God.
5) A rock so big that an “omnipresent” God can’t lift, would too have to be omnipresent. Where would you “move” (lifting is moving) an “omnipresent” rock to? (You can’t. it is already everywhere.) |

Why is there a clamor that there should be no religious stuff here? Why not? If u are comfortable in your own beliefs, you should be open to discussions of such kinds. Diversity in religious beliefs need not be a cause for strife if we decide to live and let live. God loves us all equally!! |
