the filipino people themselves. they should looking for other people's mistakes, and instead try to do what's right. when you see trash on the street, do you pick it up and throw it in the trash can or just let somebody else do it? if you see people having more than you do, do you ask something from them or work harder to earn more? if you see someone more successful than you, do you find fault in them?
i know, nobody's perfect and nobody will be but we can at least try to do our very best in order to become a better person. don't expect other people to help you, find ways to help yourself. |

Only the great people of the Philippines can effect any radical change in the country's socio-politico-economic scene. Until and unless the people will demand, insist and die for good government they so deserve, the much maligned status quo will continue... ad infinitum. |

It is refreshing to see that the majority of people that answered thus far understand that it is the people that has to make the change. Politicians cannot do that for you.
Obama cannot make change in the U.S.A. unless he has the people behind him. The first 100 days after he is sworn in on January 20TH will determine if the American people are going to be behind him or not. Presidents Reagan secret was going to the people via mass media when Congress did not support him and he got the people behind him.
So many have relied on a politician or a political group or the Catholic Bishops (just another political group) to bring change to the Philippines and it will never happen. They all have their own vested interest it certainly is not the people of the Philippines as a whole. It reminds me of the people who look to someone to make them happy when choosing a mate. A mate can only make you happier, but they cannot make you happy. Only you yourself can make yourself happy and only you yourself can bring change to the Philippines. |

The political system is too corrupt for any good president to fix.
Even if we elect a good and clean president, The other government officials are still corrupt and the president cannot do anything about it.
Right now GMA is corrupt, lost funds, rigging elections etc.
but we shouldn't look that high.
Look at the Barangay officials.
SK officers 17 year olds getting 5 digits budgets for their barangay???
So much funds, where do these funds go??? |

Somehow I've lost hope, Ninoy Aquino is long dead and also Raul Roco, all who are aspiring for president are either corrupt or with tainted reputations, these days to me, I consider, the dark age in Philippine history |

You and all your friends can make changes in the Philippines. Start a group to make people aware that it is time to move forward with new and better idea. It is not required to follow another country ways but decide what would be best for the philippines, support the people whom can make the changes and be active in your country. |

If Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City mayor will run for Presidency, he will most likely to change a lot about Philippines as he did to Davao City.
Under Duterte's leadership, Davao City experienced relative peace and stability, ushering an unprecedented economic boom. The city's crime rate dropped dramatically that tourism organizations in the city claim that Davao is "the most peaceful city in Southeast Asia".[3] Duterte, who has been dubbed "The Punisher" by Time magazine,[3] has been criticized by human rights groups and by Amnesty International for tolerating extra-judicial killings of alleged criminals.[3][4][5][6] Duterte has always denied any direct involvement in these frequent killings.[7]

A sacrificial lamb, bolder than the collected efforts of the Magdalo soldiers. I'm afraid it will all change after a century. It also took more than a hundred years for America to realize what Abraham Lincoln, then called America's worst president, has done for her. |
