If Philippines can be a better place, would you rather stay there or still live life in abroad? |
Well for the most part, I didnt like philippines, but that doesn't mean I Hated it, if philppines was a bit more safer, less pollution and all I really don't mind living there.
What about you? :) Additional Details lol well I really liked shopping there, and the food was great. Sadly I stayed at Manila, I got stolen 7 times (hard to think right?) the pollution is crazy, and well so many things that I didnt like, I stayed there for a few weeks, so I haven't exactly seen the whole country yet, and hoping my next vacation there I stay a lot longer :)
Most of the time why I didn't do much is because my family is pretty boring and don't do much unlike me, I love to travel. I really want to go to Cebu. |

No, I won't stay. I love to travel and experience different cultures and adventures. No matter how good or bad the situation in the Philippines is, the choice of staying there for life is merely based on the lifestyle preferences of each individual. |

i might be a sentimalist or a plain nationalist by heart for i would rather live my days in the philippines, regardless.
for if you have lived a considerable number of years there, have your family, your loved ones & your friends in the philippines, if you have very good memories, if you grew up liking the sights & the sounds & the filipino culture, then i believe you too would rather live there too.
as the saying goes, you don't know what youre missing until youve lost it, or something like that. & besides foreigners who have discovered the country say it is a good retirement destination.

I live here now and your right about the Pollution it is bad but the good side of the Philippines is the peso to US dollar ratio and that's why we stay here.. well not only that there is alot of nice places to go vist: Baguio, Subic Bay plus many more . The Asian Mall in Manila is the biggest I've ever seen. |

This will be short one. If it will be a "better" place, no one will leave the country or it will be minimal.
Cheers. |

For me having spent all my life in the U.S., I would rather live in the Philippines. I have been there 4 times, and I just came back a few weeks ago. It was rather hard for me to say goodbye.. I don't think the P.I. needs to be a better place to consider moving there. If I could today I would. Why? People there are so much more appreciative of life, no matter how little they have. Regarding the safety issues, I am from Mindanao of all places and I felt completely safe. The pollution is an issue and well as the viewable poverty, but where aren't there catastrophic issues? The Philippines is a breathtakingly beautiful country, with wonderful people, a great cultural background, incredibly delicious food, and countless naturally gorgeous sights. Would love to live in a country like that, wouldn't you? |

Well

Well you had a reason why you didn't like the Philippines while you were there. Maybe the passage of time and distance away from it has clouded your memory enough for your harsh opinion of it to soften. When you visit it for a couple of weeks you may love it more.
However, I can almost guarantee you that your initial euphoria will wane after several months back home.
I know so because practically all of the pinoys I know who immigrated to the US and later decided to come back; none of them really stayed there. They all eventually changed plans after they arrived and headed on back--usually after a year or two.
Litltle by little but surely all the reasons you (or your parents) left in the first place (devastating poverty, class system, elitism, lack of services, environmental distress, jobs, rights) will become impossible to avoid and dismiss. Those factors are a mainstay of the society with little possibility of abating. |
