If Singapore is still part of Malaysia, Malay is still the majority. So, Malaysia will be same. May be the only difference is Malaysia have two states run by Chinese, Pulau Pinang and Singapore.

hushpuppy
easy...

singapURA would be JUST another state (like any other state) within the country.
malaysia is still malaysia like it is today - mr ky lee could have been jailed for sodomy or detained under ISA, so you can forget about any positive influence to the econ, poli, social.

msia will be better off in the following terms:
wont have to fight over water issue, no one is getting sour at each other.
msia would have guts to tell the world it is the most developed nation in south east asia as it probably would be since no competition from the now sgp.

kylee did what was and is best for his country

If Singapore is still part of Malaysia, Malaysia wouldn't be the dump that it is right now.

Malays will be less lazy, as they will have to actually *work* to get somewhere in life, instead of the current situation where everything is based on skin colour.

If Singapore was still part of Malaysia, Chinese people will feel much better about staying here. At least Chinese people will feel more appreciative towards the country. Chinese people will not feel sidelined and at a disadvantage, because everything that they do will not be enough, just because they are 'fair skinned.'

English will be the National Language. Which makes more sense than Bahasa Malaysia/Melayu..whatever. We can't even get what the National Language is called right. At least, internationally we will be more competitive. Looking at Singapore now, Malaysia really is lacking in the language department.

I don't think the Agung or the Sultan will be abolished. But, our Agungs and Sultans won't be mere puppets who are content with marrying wives a quarter of their age and giving out Datukships to undeserving people.

Safety. Singapore banned Indonesian men from entering their country. This is what Malaysia should do. If Singapore were to still be in Malaysia, no Nurin cases would happen. Indonesian workers are the bane of society. Uncivilized cavemen who roam the streets raping, molesting, robbing, snatching bags, cat calling...

If Singapore was still part of Malaysia, I wouldn't be trying so hard to get into an overseas University. If Singapore was still a part of Malaysia, I would be happy.

I think I'll speak Singlish..
Wah Lau Eh!

Good question. It very much depends on who the government are .The answers are right in front of us don't you realize?

booyah
same...lah.

Vin
Malaysia would be as it is currently ..NO DIFFRENCE !

But the most important thing to be brought forward is Singapore...It would be just a state in Malaysia.. given not much priority as to KL..

I would rather not see this happen... The world would be incomplete without singapore..with its great port..airlines..city..lifestyle..and ofcoz their strict rules which made Singapore SINGAPORE ..Majulah Singapura !!

Malaysia would still be considered a "developing" nation.

Why?

Singapore's economic value, although Singapore is a "developed" nation, is not enough to lift Malaysia to the ranks of the U.S. Japan, Germany, Great Britain, or France.

You want me to answer honestly or to give you what you want to hear?

I know many people would like to hear how prosperous would be Malaysia if it didn't expell Singapore in 1965, but that's just grunts of dissatisfied citizens.

First view the source of Singapore's succes: Singapore owes everything to the West, including the "white trash od Asia" how Lee Kwan Yew called Australia. Singapore is developed because of foreign, mainly Western, investment.

Honestly, i don't believe Singapore would see such an economic growth had it stayed in Malaysia. Things in Malaysia wouldn't be much different, but things in Singapore would. They would be much less developed, having single official language etc.

Agong would stay, the only way Agong would be abolished if Sultans rebelled against BN. The only official language would remain Malay, or they might get English as the second official language if they pressed really hard, but definitely not Mandarin and Tamil. And in my humble opinion, if Singapore remained in Malaysia, DAP/PAP would join BN, so here you go...

Safety? Same. Education? Here is where Malaysia could see a slight improvement if Singapore stayed in Malaysia. Politics? Well, you might have a couple of May 13 more... Culture? The wonderful multucultural Malaysia would still comprise of its 3 main cultures because Singapore is home to the exactly same ethnic groups, just in different proportions.

In terms of economy, I would say Thailand would be doing much better, and the channel through south of Thailand would have already been constructed.

malaysia will not follow singapore but singapore will. so what will change is singapore not malaysia.

If Singapore is still parts of Malaysia, they would be just like any other states.Btw i couldn't care less.Malaysia is Malaysia as it is. Its all destined. Just wondering when will Singapore send their astronaut to space coz Malaysia already send theirs. And the F1 Track, Malaysia already has one and Singapore will have one too next year eh. Lets see what will they have next. Perhaps a tall building like KLCC.

P P
Everything still the same as it is now, a 3rd world country in terms of economy, education, social benefits etc.

The only difference is we have an extra state --> Singa Pura Darul Cegas ... PLUS without any 1st world country in the South East Asia like we use to have now.

education department will definately be much more advanced and will be the top in the world as singapore is one now. more chinese will be in the kabinat and keselamatan negara will be more maju. definately malaysia will be one of the top. the agung and sultan will remain as the malay population will still be the most.

Malaysia would be exactly the same as it is Now.
As long UMNO led BN is the government, there wont be any difference at all. And Singapore's development would been just slightly better than Penang and would be lacking far behind Kuala Lumpur. K.Y. Lee would have been prisoned, exiled or assassinated and PAP would have been disbanned long ago. There would have been lots of racial tensions too and Malaysia may NOT be as developed as it is NOW.

Getting kicked out of Malaysia is the BEST thing that had happened to Singapore. Rejoining Malaysia even in the future would be the DUMBEST thing they can ever do.

.

If Singapore is still a part of Malaysia. It'll still be the same as we will have the same Prime Minister. Everything will run as it is. There will be corruption and discrimination (please bear in mind that this sort of thing is everywhere), there will be unity , there will be..whatever it is here now. ....hmm what will not be is this type of question and type of answer from the girl who criticise the country she resides in...to that girl who i don't even bother to look at her nick. Shame on you.If you're not happy here, pack your bags and leave.Maybe you'll be better off in Indonesia?

It seems that someone don't really fancy me telling the traitor to leave before she causes more damage to the country.

Of course the Best Answerer get ten points, you don't have to tell us. We all know.
No difference, Malaysia will be as it is, that is Islam the Official Religion, Bahasa Malaysia will be the National language, The Agung and Sultan will not change but sadly you will be in jail.

Ha Ha Ha ...... You will be a jailbird, wish it will not happen in your life time.

LadyofLeisure
There will be no different for Malaysia part for huge different for Singapore..and for worst or better, go figure...

p/s Dloader....just out of curiosity since one answerer her asked you to pack and leave...what do you think of her comment on you? Are you a traitor to Msia?

With the Chinese population added in, you think these Malay can talk big and still can so corrupted and so racialist - that why the great tungku has the great foresight to allow Singapore Independence.

It will be equality to all races, fair competition, may not reach 1st class status, however there are certainly more Chinese PM and ministers.

With better education opportunity to all, the living standard is definitely higher and less crime and problems from foreighn workers with a corruption free police and civil service servant!

English and Chinese still the working languagues, malay remains the national language. Sultans still around. But a president (open to all regliions) to be elected.
