Wondering many of you never read news paper ! Those cases where Malaysian ladies being prosecuted and sentenced to death, most recently are one in Japan, the other [ Umi Azlim from Kelantan ] in China ! You can even watch those tricks on tv and movies etc etc !
[1] even if its over weight, he/she can pay for it because its simply their responsibilities to follow the rules in the first place!
[2] how sure you are that the contents are legal, even if they open and show you ! How about the hiden comparment of certain bag/suitcase ?
[3] beside carrying it, they can always use others alternative to send those luggage to wherever they wanted to !
My advice is NEVER EVER carry any thing for any one [ except family member ], regardless of nationality, age or even if they are very sick ! [ cruel ? better safe than sorry ! ] Remember, by helping to carry that luggage you didn't gain anything at all ! Be a kind person and help others in a more noble way that wouldn't risk your life/future ! |

Not in a million years. If you are checking it, you're responsible for what's in it. The bag could contain illegal drugs, illegal currency, weapons, a bomb, banned substances (ivory) - you name it. You'll be the one fined or in jail, while he's off somewhere else laughing at you. |

i wouldnt, why would a stranger need you to check in his luggage? idk, sounds fishy |

Very very risky. Why save on excess luggage when you might end up paying with your life. |

Depends on the situation,
if it was a little old lady and she showed me the contents of her suitcase first then I wouldn't mind to help. But nine times out of ten I would say no (It's happened to me before)
Too risky |

They already know that they are over the weight allowance but they are cheap and would like someone who likes to travel light get hassled and face the ticket counter ladies with red face and lying to their teeth about the ownership of baggage. But if they know they carry contraband items and let someone answer for it when tipped off in the customs of the illegal parcel , they are criminal and you are a foolish person that deserves to be imprisoned for stupidity. |

I won't help, we should not look after others' stuff let alone taking any responsibility for checking it in.. after all the person is a STRANGER.
I'd say, yes it's risky.
This may sound paranoid.. but who knows what can happen to you in this crazy world. |

no, because you become responsible for his luggage. So if there is drugs or anything illegal in it, they can prosecute you for it. I wouldn't want to go to jail for a total stranger - I don't want to go to jail period. |

and when there's illegal stuff in it what will happen? |

I did help a stranger before. When I take a flight from KL to MIri. That stranger show me the contain of the luggage. They told me they are running a fashion shop at Miri. After I check the contain I said yes. however, I don't encourage others to do so. |

Never do that! there are lot of cases regarding this matter such as drug trafficking, weapon and so on and you wouldnt want to be blame later.. |

Yes it is. Who knows what he is trying to get on the plane and then you get blamed. Not a good idea. |

Nope, never ever do that. You never know what is in there nowadays. It's such a shame. I remember many many years ago, some nice people would offer to check in our luggage for us but these days i am even too conscious to think about asking for favour. people'd give you THAT kinda look... |

Absolutely not. These types of arrangements scream danger, danger to me. Lets see...drugs, bombs, contraband...
Think about it, why would anyone want to hand their belongings over to a stranger, unless they did not want to be caught with them or wanted to make it seem like they were traveling somewhere they weren't. |

A big NO. You are responsible for all the items in your luggage, even if they are not yours. You will be asked the legal questions at check-in and maybe even at security, so don't lie. |

No. If the stranger don't know how to check in the luggage, I'll tell him the instructions or ask the stranger to seek help from the staff. |
