i would be more than willing to pay if it goes for the improvement of our lives like budget for schools, housing works, bldgs, bridges,for the development of more jobs,etc.
but if it continues to be like this, the taxes we pay are alloted for the improvement of the military or defense (admit it, the Philipines is not going for a war, the MILF is a group which could be controlled if only they know how to deal with our Moro brothers) and it goes for the renovation of the politicians houses and for their brand new cars. the hell with it. |

NO, they steal too much money and have too high of salaries for politicians, they waste it on things I disagree with, don't do things I'd like to see done with my tax money, and they give it to people who don't deserve it and then deny people who do really deserve assistance when they pay into the system all their lives. |

sadly we HAVE to pay taxes, without noticeing any improvement in the infrastructure of this country. If there just weren't the subcontractors of the subcontractors of the subcontractors etc, that all want to have a piece of the pie, more would be invested in the QUALITY of the infrastructures.
Recently I talked to a high ranking "officer" (of course sporting a Rolex, Gold chains around his neck and BIG gold rings on his fingers) of the DOT(Department of Tourism). I told him that in one of the brochures it says that tap water in Baguio is potable to any tourist (which is of course NOT true). His answer was this:"I don't kno about dat. Dat por shur is da work op one op my opicers. I belieb dat dis was made by one op da lower ranking opisers" wheras I answered:"Don't you check what your people are doing, sind you are their Boss?" He:"well da ting is dat I can not tseck eberyting dey are doing" Me:"But it is in one of your brochures with the seal of the DOT on it!" Him:"I don't no about dat, but we will go to Russia in a pew wiks." (obviously he was trying to change the toppic)"Den prom der, we will prosid to da Italy, Rome and den to Barcelona in... ahhh.... Spain".
I was really astonished that he even had to think about where Barcelona is. On top of that he couldn't speak proper English, he drove a red plated car with his wife and driver to a housewarming (Where I got to talk to him) of a common friend.
If that is where my tax money goes, I wouldn't voluntarily pay one centavo! |

In the USA, if the tax money was going towards health care and for the good of the citizens for the country, then definitely yes. the way things are now, I feel like it's unfair how much taxes we have to pay. people who cannot afford health care do not get health care, etc. Not enough money goes to the public schools, etc. The money is really not dispersed fairly. |

yes with reservations. in the first place, those who don't pay taxes have no right to whine about those people who made a career of redistributing the wealth of every honest and hard working taxpayer.
if given a choice, i will pay taxes to this government right now provided that they be transparent enough to post a quarterly report (make it a monthly report) on where our money goes and how it's being used/spent.
hell, if i was a lawmaker... i'd make an ITR a requirement for voting in the elections (for the young but unemployed, show their parents/benefactor's ITR). that way, we don't have lazy bums whether rich or poor who'll vote in a President they'll just complain to over and over again. |

It is a duty of a citizen of our country to pay our taxes even if it is used to something else. It is the problem of the government leaders if they don't use it rightly but as a Filipino it is our duty embedded in the constitution to pay taxes. If we don't follow the law then we don't have the right to criticize others for not doing their duties. |
