singapore should be able to exist longer than many other countries. singapore got lots of hdb flats, so we can survive another 4 or 5 m of water level raise.. =P

should something did happen, then we will become refugees...not illegal immigrants. go wherever that is still in existence I suppose.

Read from somewhere Singapore will be under the sea then.It sounds quite possible .Anyway,I have confidence in the Singaporean government .These most intelligent group of leaders in this region will think of ways to help their people.

Whitehawk
knowing the singapore govt ... they prob will think of some solution way before the sea level rises too high.

Who knows they may put the entire island on a floating platform and we just continue to live as though nothing happen.

Did you hear the rumour that the govt is currently planning to build a glass dome to cover the entire island so they can control the weather and keep the heat out?!? :)

I guess you can see here most Singaporean are not really afraid of natural disaster.
We would have prepared ourselves when the time do come.(like houses today that have bomb shelter etc).
Our bilateral ties with many international countries will be a blessing in these times,Singaporean has never hesitate in lending a helping hand in every natural disaster that occur anywhere in the world. Therefore we will never be 'illegal immigrants'.

I doubt many Singaporean if given a choice would like to go to Malaysia to seek shelter or help.i mean if Singapore has sunk, part of Malaysia would have sunk too, right? We are lucky if they did not steal anything from us!(Look at the flood in Kota Tinggi early this year, there are ppl busy stealing from shops that are fast submerging underwater. These ppl could have help their neighbours to safety instead)

It's ok. Singaporeans are rich. After we make our fortune from the new casinos, all of us will be able to afford an island each. Actually, we already can!
