Here is a way to become Chinese:

1. Move to Hong Kong
2. Stay here 7 years to become permanent resident
3. Apply for HK SAR passport
4. If approved, give up your current nationality.

Then you are officially HK Chinese.

Mike Rowse (HKinvest) did that for example.

Deleerious
No you plank. You will still be wherever you are from now.

You will just be living there.

I am Irish. But i live in England. That still makes me Irish.

Ginny Jin
No you would be an expatriate. You don't change your nationality just because you are living in a foreign country.

Aliz
NO, unless you become a citizen of China.

sandy
i wouldnt say so. if you go to a circus, does that make you a clown? no

CuriousBanana
maybe a Chinese cititzen... but it won't change your ethnicity if you aren't Chinese. :]

AQUALUNG
Over a period of time, you might assimilate some of their culture but that won't make you a Chinese.

The great American author Pearl S Buck lived in China on anf off for many years yet she is as American as apple pie... perhaps with a little sesame seeds sprinkle atop.

snoopy in action
No, you are still who you are, no matter where you go.

Texas Cowboy
What's a chinnese?

no ........... not unless you get a nationality change ................ first you have to own a land in china then live there for a very very long time then talk to the government group that deals with your case .................

boisterous j
you'll stay a filipino

loveasianmen69
no ..........i did that.........you will still be foreign. and you will know it by the many stares that you get from people........if you happen to get married or something you should NEVER give up your citizenship, because you will have to go through the same process they go through to get a visa for your own country. which is a very long and unfun process.

White Shooting Star of HK
Chinese legally or by heart?

Legally, you can become chinese by being a Chinese Citizen, whether in Hong Kong or Mainland

By heart, no you will never be a chinese, it is like a girl changing sex. Is she a "male"? No, she would still a female even with an operation

However, if you wish to declare yourself as Chinese, no one to stop you

Rudeboydevil
if you know their language and can speak Chinese, but you are not Chinese, then you will not become Chinese, you will still be the same if you live there...

?

Bazz
