Malaysia is noted for its good food like satay, mee gorang, nasi kampar, roti channai etc, But you must stop at some small towns and try their exotic food like stir fried squirrels, fruit bats, monitor lizards, anteaters and wild boars to name a few. Sometime if you are lucky, you can get tiger meat as well. One more thing before I forget, if you do take kambeng soap, usual sold by Indian, order an additional serving of the goat`s penis as well. Shioko-do-do. Die die must try. |

Well, there's a GREAT beef noodle restaurant at Jalan Silang (That's the old street's name).
RM4.80 for a big bowl of noodles + minced pork + 8 beef balls.
One of my favourites everytime I head to the city. (It's called Soong Kee)
Then there's Nasi Lemak. The best ones are usually at the road side with lots of people queueing up.
Usually about RM 1-3 for plain. You can add meats like sotong (squid), chicken, beef, lamb, and fish.
Briyani rice! At any 'Mamak' stalls. (Indian food)
You can find a mamak in every 1 km radius.
The best ones are hard to find,
But to me, they all taste great!
There's expensive and cheap mamak,
But you'll get what you paid for.
For really nice, fancy, Chinese restaurants,
Go to the smelly, dirty, hawker stalls for the fast and cheap and sometimes great tasting.
Or head to a Tai Thong restaurant.
There's alot... Just ask the locals for the best.
Thai food. Not much good places. But if you find one, it's really good.
There's one restaurant though that I love.
It's called "Thai Conner".
There's only 2 in Selangor. One in Subang Jaya, the other in Petaling Jaya.
That is truely authentic Thai food.
You can find Tom Yam soup made by any Malay, Indian, or Chinese food place.
Then you should buy those Indian tidbits.
The Murukus! Are the best! And the kuih-muihs.
Local delights. |
