Man ... i dunno whether u will understand this ... for me when you were born ... u entered into a social contract and u are bound by the demand of majority in society to live in one standard of behavior. If 3 person said smoke Ganja is harmless but 10 said it will effect the society ... so smoking Ganja will be regarded as an offence because we cannot force 10 men to follow a 3 men standard.

Maybe it's unfair but a social contract cannot be broken otherwise you will be punished.

The test of whether such conduct is an offence or not is 'Harm To Other's Test' ... which mean so long as your conduct did not harm others ... you did not commit an offence.

The view also must be looked hollistically not just in a small circle.

So applying the test to our standard of society ... my answer is .. Yes, smoking ganja is an offence ... and the state and majority of society will view u as a bad person.

p/s: My personal view:- Not an offence at all.

It depends on your definition of bad.
It could be against your religion (just like drinking alcohol), and it could be illegal, but in the real world - outside religious fanatiscism - smoking ganja on a "recreational basis" is no big deal.

But if comes to a situation where a person cannot get through his day without smoking a lot of grass, then it's obviously "bad".

I still believe smoking ganja is wrong and harmful, but I hold the same opinion on tobacco and alcohol. Smoking ganja doesn't make you a bad person but many, especially Asians, who take ganja, later start taking other drugs as well.

By the way, I had some friends who were into that, but they ended up no good... One of them was a pusher doing import export business on a large scale, and he got murdered with a shot in the back of his head 2 months ago and his body was found completely mutilated until they had to do DNA test to verify it was really him. The guy was not even 22 years old. Another one is in gaol for robbery, I haven't received any update on the rest. No success story, anyhow...

I personally think that drinking causes a lot more problems in our society that smoking marijuana ever could.(especially if legalized)

Nope - it doesn't make you a bad person. Not too long ago, members of the British parliament were debating whether to legalize marijuana for medical uses. Canada is contemplating too, although British parliament gave the thumbs down.

I used to smoke them on a regular basis. I've tried coke, designer drugs and ice. But now no more. I know someone who is very successful in life and he smokes weeds like smoking ciggaretes. He says it makes him think better. And the weird thing is he doesn't smoke ciggaretes.

yes ofcourse it means u r a bad person coz good people dont have time to do such things they are busy in their work.they find better way to come out of stress.that is why they are called good people and people like u r called bad.
