I think so. If I have been in the cave since childhood and have grown accustomed to my environment and feel familiar with it, facing a new one different from which I have grown into would be so strange I would feel insecure and uncomfortable...maybe panic in the outside world.
There is only one reality I know and that is the life I had inside the cave with all those shadows for company. To venture out into the unknown will only frighten me.
And, of course, those will be my reasons for coming back. |

yes. from prison i must have learned something new as the cave will have so many things to explore while i wasn't there. life is short, why avoid things if you can't have them forever? |

it depends... if I still have a family and friends that still care for me outside, I would join them... but if I know that no cares if got freed or not, I'd rather come back... |

weigh the pros and cons. it would depend on how long u were in the cave, what you would gain or lose if you left or stayed, who u are leaving behind. does the cave have everything you need? do you feel as if something in your is missing that the cave doesn't have? sounds like a classical case of slavery or institutionalization. watch the movie shawshankredemption. a classical example of being institutionalized.
a lot of slaves didn't want to be free. they felt as if they were being taking care of when it the other way around. |

I would not want to come back but it is inevitable. The responsibilities that I have inflicted upon myself such as career and family etc. are what would always bring me back. |

I think people who go to prison for a long time give up and want to go back because 1. they are very use to it, 2. they figure, their life is down the toilet so they waste the rest of it like F*ck This!
Sorry, but I just had to say it..you asked. |

Hi Blessings to you.If I were the freed Prisoner i would never go back in to the cave.these are the reasons, once you leave the Cave your eyes start getting used to the sun light and you do not see any shadows on the wall, because the wall is behind you it is no longer unreal, because you will try to seek the truth as i ascend into the reality realizing that my mind is made up, that I m filling to give it a try and shoot for my goal, which is making it out side of the Cave . By using my mind and reasoning, where ideas can help me to understand the form of the good. for all things that are good is right and it is in the light to want to know the source of the truth. And those are the reason i would never ever would go back. And if one go back i think it will be harder for once you see the sun light, your eyes are clear and not dark and if you are in again then you will have to start all over again meaning your eyes will have to get used to the dark , and it will take a while for one to start seen those shadows on the wall which means back to the low realm.. Once one understand the basic idea of knowledge, the sources and is guarantee of all the things out side of the Cave one will not want to go back.. Awesome Question, I like it. |

If you have the cellar full of spirits as in Amontillado, maybe it is worth the risk. But you will have to wave your coat and your hold your hands up high where there is no trowel beneath and mortars to hold. Let the chains rust so it won't harm nobody no more. Bring the keg to the entrance so we won't have to plot each others ill fortunes and say the world is much nicer out there where the sun shines eternal. |

sometimes we all want to go back to where we were comfortable once. if its the cave then we go back to it. |

Yes, I would.
To be the light of the world. So that those who are blind may see the truth. To set my own kind free. And if my fate is to be killed by own kind, so be it.
Edit: I won't be the Greatest Liar in All of Yahoo Answers if I don't do this. There is a escape clause in my answer, in very fine print, so fine you can't see it. It says: "But my own kind has to catch me first, if they wanna kill me." |

Not at this moment, maybe. I already knew what it's like in there. I'll take my chances outside where there are far more challenges and opportunities waiting for me. Time will tell if I'll ever come back. |
