If you were to visit three Asian countries, which ones would you choose?

Well you are starting in Thailand. Good choice. Vietnam is a must. its getting really popular but is still rock bottom inexpensive and absolutely beautiful. good people too. I would have to make the third Cambodia just because of Angkor Wat. The country is a little rough but the sites are tremendous.
China does have some tremendous tourist attractions but I really don't like the crowds and the Grey of the cities. Just Me?
Shienaran, What incidents in Bali. Nothing has happened there in years and there is a bombing in Thailand every other day it seems. Bali is a blast or let me rephrase that, a ball. and is a great area to visit and play in. good surfing as well. it amazes me that people remember a couple of incidents from years ago in Indo and don't even know of the terrorism and insurrection brewing in Thailand and other countries as we speak. Wake up and stop passing on old news. Get current.

If you start in Thailand, then visit neighboring Myanmar (Burma). It has same amazing sights (Pagan is just as impressive as the incredibly crowded Angkor Wat).

Then I'd also go to Kuching to visit the jungles of Western Malaysia.

If you said you will start in THAILAND then next is absolutely VIETNAM then from there fly to PHILIPPINES,from PHILIPPINES fly to TAIWAN and go up to KOREA and last destination must be JAPAN.
If i was you i will go with that route and just like you circle around ASIA dont you see?you will save more time thought,so my choice would be:

HONGKONG
KOREA
JAPAN

Malaysia, Indonesia for sure. You will not find any nicer and genuine people in the world than Indonesia. Lovely people. Malaysia is about the same their culture is very friendly and strait forward. These are the only Asian countries I have visited and I prefer them above all other countries east and west.

I love Hong Kong - fantastic food and shopping. Great atmosphere and easy to get around.
Haven't been to Macau, but i hear it's the next Vegas.

i would suggest that you start in singapore then travel to malaysia and then up to thailand. take the bus or book your flight tickets with airasia.com now. when u are in thailand you can travel up to cambodia, vietnam, laos, myanmar, vietnam and other countries as well. that way you do not travel up and down. have fun. my asia countries that i like so far is malaysia, vietnam and indonesia.

Thailand sounds good, but I also recommend Korea S., Taiwan, or India.

If you're after a cultural tour China, Japan and Thailand offer the most variety. If you're into shopping then HongKong, Malaysia and Thailand is it. For parties, Malaysia, Thailand and Saipan is not bad either, I'd have suggested Indonesia, but the Bali incidents have kinda affected the tourism over there.
