chinese
spanish
japanese
arabic
the first two would be on the basis of the number of speakers and usefullness in coming years. japanese would be based on interest and curiosity while arabic, although beautiful, would be of little use to me. |

Spanish... very important when going to the Americas, and it's much easier because we already know a lot of Spanish words...
Chinese... depends, but I would choose Mandarin, most used language in the world, and it could be helpful because there are lots of Chinese all over the world...
Arabic... very helpful when going to the southern most part of the Philippines, and when going to the Middle East...
Japanese... could be helpful, there are plenty of Japanese people around in the Philippines... and oh, I love going to Sushi places, so, it could be really helpful... |

Chinese for business and top clients
Japanese because it sounds so unique
Arabic because the MidEast is an interesting place to visit, and study
Spanish is last because I can get by with the little I know anyway |

And warmest felicitations to you, too.
Since I already have a spattering of the three others, I'd just learn Chinese - Mandarin, Cantonese and others of their dialect.
I might even learn their calligraphy. |

1st: Spanish because I am a bicolano. The bicolano dialect has many Spanish words so I think it would be easier learning that languages.
2nd:Japanese cause I love watching animes and have to read mangas.
3rd:Chinese cause other asians know these language.
4th:Arabic cause I want to know what the Muslims are talking about. This helps when you are buying DVD and VCD from muslim vendors.
there you go...
just the same arragement as you have listed |

Spanish is first. You know why?
Our battle cries, our first national anthem, the famous poems rizal made, our first official language. is Spanish.
The Spanish formed the Philippines.
second would be Japanese.
3rd would be Chinese
then last Arabic.
Hope this helps! |

Chinese- to easy engage with business especially Filipino-Chinese they always find a connection
Japanese - so i can watch anime with out reading the subtitles. i sometimes find crappy translations- ;-P
Spanish then Arabic i guess...
i dont know why i should learn arabic. unless i would find myself working in the middle east.
as for now Chinese would be an advantage for me |

chinese - it's an advantage if you know how to speak chinese because some establishments in the country (and the big ones there is) are chinese owned.
japanese - we also have many japanese investors and they seldom understand english.
spanish and arabic for me is not really significant here not unless you love to dine in restos offering their foods. (their menu is a bit tricky) |

for me, it's in this order:
Japanese - so i won't rely on subtitles for my J-Dramas, Anime, and J-music
Chinese (Mandarin) - to impress those Chinitas who were hardcore Chinese school girls
Spanish - i'd rather learn Catalan... i just don't have any intention of visiting Spain and i don't see why it's needed in America when everyone ought to speak English there
Arabic - if my lifelong dream is to hunt down terrorists or do business with sheiks, then i would learn Arabic. the educated Arabs speak pretty good English anyway |
