More than 10, that's for sure! I try to learn that all-important phrase before I visit another country. The locals are very appreciative when they hear tourists say "thank you" in their vernacular.
And to you I say, "salamat guid"...that's the way we say it in Iloilo.
And to that person who copypasted his/her mile-long answer ...NO THANKS TO YOU!!! |

Just one, only in English I can say "thank you"
In other languages I'd say something different, lile "gracias" in Spanish... where "thank you" would be meaningless.

I studied Spanish and French before so I know "Gracias" (muchas gracias) and "Merci" (merci beaucoup). I'm currently studying German and Italian at the same time so I also know "Grazie" and "Dank" (or vielen dank).
Because I'm a Filipino, I know "Salamat".(maraming salamat) I also know Cebuano so I know "Daghang Salamat".
So English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Filipino makes that six. Haha |
