farina m
yes, my friend is a malay muslim who lives in Sibu Sarawak. she finished high school in 2003, and was the only malay in her form/batch.

x_ill
Yes it happens all of the time, the problem with most parents is that instead of the children spending hours embracing the morals of islam they are becoming educated and many parents that I know would not accept the morals and standards of the other nationalities to be taught to there children, even at the risk of letting their children become successful.

anderson
yes it is allow but it also depend how open minded is their parents.

In Sandakan (Sabah) there are now more Muslim students in Chinese schools than Chinese... Sandakan has a huge population from neighbouring countries, they have been here for the past 30 years, are of course Muslims (not Malays though, they are Suluk, Bajau, Iakaan, Ubian, Ilanun, Bisaya etc) and they produce children... by the way, most dragon dance clubs nowadays in Sabah are almost exclusively 'Muslim'. Are the Chinese youths simply not interested in such vigorous (and dangerous) exercises any more, I sometimes ask myself...

heman
yes, no problem, u can choose to study in any type of school, I have Malay friends who studied in chinese school and know how to speak chinese. i have seen even a malay student study in a chinese school where almost 99% of the student is chinese.

Yes.There is now an increasing number of Malay and Iban kids studying in the local schools in Sarawak and they are generally pretty smart. They learn to speak ,read and write Chinese which would come in handy for them in the future. Smart parents they have.I salute to them.

pretty girl make grave
Yes, i have a friend study at Chinese school. no exceptional cases. it is not like unusual things, it is normal for Malaysian people and even in the kindergarten now day they teach Chinese language to, beside English and bahasa melayu.

angelparis

Absolutely.
Why is that surprising, may I ask?
I've seen even Indian children studying at Chinese-speaking schools! It's not exceptional at all.
I think as long as the parent can afford good education, why not?
In fact growing up, I had many non-Malay friends who spoke Chinese much more fluently than I ever could, lol.

Hey Shayna, wassup! :-D

There shouldn't be any worries when studying in any school in Malaysia..We are free to choose our preferred education and i'm proud to say that all of my kids are in Chinese school and they are doing great!

Lol, TheBear..you dont know meh?...everyone knew that i've been taken a few years ago already....hihihi...aiyoh..cannot flirt but still can be friendslah kan...hihihih...;-D

Khamirul Bin Mataree
Yes! My sister did that before. No problem. :)

Naruto
My son who is studying in a chinese medium school has one Malay classmate & 3 Malay schoolmates, so presumably yes.

MC
It's normal in malaysia to have a non-chinese student to study in chinese schools. We practise open admission to all races. There are thousands of Malay students currently admitted to Chinese Primary school nationwide.

sarah the cat's mummy
yes. exceptional cases when the chinese school is religious based. so the curriculum must be including teaching of the other religioun. it is not practised in malaysia. i doubt any malay parents will let their child learn about another religioun in detail. they will try to avoid it.

only if the school is chinese based language, malay muslim can go to the school. mandarin is widely used in malaysia besides english language. it will be an advantage for any malays to master the language

i have friends that study in chinese school. they seem fine and they are doing great. chinese are hardworking ppl, my malay friends learn to adapt and instill that good values in themselves.

Yes they're allowed, as long as the parents is okay with the rules and regulations. In fact many Malay parents preferred Chinese schools (or private schools) cause they are much2 better than those gov schools. Never mind the expensive fees.

yes, no doubt about it. all malaysians regardless of their ethnicity backgrounds are allowed to study in any school of their choice

Of course it is.

In fact about 10% of the estimated 600,000 students who attend Chinese-language medium schools in Malaysia are non-Chinese and presumably, quite a number of these are Malay Muslims.

In fact, I would like to know if a non-muslim can attend a madarasah or muslim school? is it possible?

Gigi the teeth
Sure, no problem. I have a ex-Malay girl classmate and her results are quite well too. So don't ever bully those Malay & Indians by using Chinese or Mandarin language to scold them, many of them understand Chinese now.

allanckc@yahoo.com
Yes , malay muslim are allowed to enrol in Chinese school, according to latest statistic there are close to 50,000 malay muslim in Chinese school now, infact when China is opening its door there are now more malay interested in Chinese school, they have advantages especially when Gov link companies are now investing in china so they will get preference if they are conversant in chinese Mandarin .The answer is definately a YES.rgds

burn
yes,it is possible only with a condition take the malay takes al quran lesson.

pjallittle
There are roughly 1300 Chinese public primary schools (national-type schools) in Malaysia
