Indonesia is a magnificent place to travel and I will definetely insist you to visit my country. But I will never recommend you to visit Jakarta unless if you are in a bussiness or any important trip. It's a very huge and metropolitan city and does not have any convenient attraction for tourism. Basically, it consist of mall and shopping places everywhere. And don't worry about the security there, because there is no place in the world that is completely save. So I suggest that you visit Bali instead. It's the most beautiful and suitable place for tourism and relaxation. You will never regret anything if you go to Bali because every single cent that you spend will be worth it!

Yup! perfectly great... you can go anywhere you want, and the prices are cheap. The people are great and friendly. I suggest not just visit Bali, try other islands like Lombok, Sulawesi, Borneo, Papua, The Moluccas, Java... all have their own culture and great varied landscapes.

There are so many luxury hotels if you want. Try Hotel Bvlgari in Bali or Amanresorts in Java, Bali, Sumbawa. If you are backpackers, so much cheap nice hotel. I've been to Gili Air in Lombok, and i stayed in a nice bungalow just for rp 50000 or less than 6 USD.

Been there many times. It's fairly safe, as long as you take all required precautions, as a foreign tourist will normally.

However, avoid their budget airlines. Some of them fly rickety aircraft and I've had some truly hair-raising experiences on them.

Indonesia is perfectly safe. It's even safer than America that has been a target for terrorist attacks and random shooters at schools.

I'm Indonesian and for me, Indonesia is really beautiful country. That applies of you go to Bali and other rural cities. Not Jakarta - the capital city of Indonesia. feel free to ask me about Indonesia if you want to. ^_^

p.s.: Bali is the most beautiful city in Indo.

it's good. don't worry, it's safe. if you'd like to visit its major cities, you'll like jakarta, surabaya, medan, bali, makasar. but i think bali is the best because the dominant religion is hindu, and they really practice it. you'll love the city.

if you are a nature lover which means you like mountain, lake, beach, etc. then you should go.. but if you are a shopper kind of person then this is not really a good choice although most of the stuffs are cheap..

It depends on which part of indonesia you're planning to go. People who like to surf usually go to Bali even though there are many other good places to surf like Bunaken. Clearest water and beautiful beaches. Jakarta, is just another metropolitan city: very congested and a LOT of shopping malls. everytime I went back, a new mall was opened.unbelievable

its a great place to travel to. Lots of diversity between Islands. something for everyone. the people are great and its safe. Drink bottled water.
