malaysians know what, when, who, where, why, and how to get things approved. this is one of the characteristics of being modern

Yup, Kuala Lumpur(KL) is a modern city. In fact, it's the capital of Malaysia where so many international events were held annualy. I bet it's a modern city. Even it's not up with Tokyo or New York, yet it has lots of nice things to offer.

You made a right decision to visit KL this year bcos it's Visit Malaysia 2007 year. You'll enjoy your stay for sure. In case u r looking for place to relax your mind, you can go to waterfalls, resort at highlands, and beaches too.. They are all just like 1 to 2 hours drive from the heart of KL city.Try this link to get to know KL better. Happy holidays!!

of course it's a modern city, but some parts of it are preserved as they are 'vintage'.

It is a modern city in Malaysia but not as busy as Tokyo or Hong Kong. Have a nice time with your friends!

Bean
Yes it's modern, they even have a 'eye on Malaysia' now, similar to the one in London which is a huge ferris wheel.

Sarah:
You made me laugh, but so true lah! "You can take the girl out of the kampung, but you cant take the kampung out of the girl" hehehe!

You think so? Look at the innkeepers act, that's barbaric in every sense. And hey, beware of pickpockets in Kuala Lumpur, ok?

Shah
You bet it is.

Yes. Modern. Not as busy as Bangkok, Jakarta or Tokyo.

yep kind of....

Very, very modern. You'll love the city which is well-balanced with traditional condition.
However, be careful with foreigner's interventions. They have a sum of crime cases before, so be careful.
Police there is wonderful, which I thought was like in other areas of Malaysia, not so up to standard. Guess I was wrong.
Only thing I hate about the city - approx. 75% of them are smokers. Sorry to say but it's the truth.
