Well, it depends on how you view it. Singaporea can be good, nice and friendly and of course singaporeans are not perfect either, they can be bad if you step on their toes. They like to complaints. They had a habit of rushing into mrt train even ppl havent come out of it. Lastly Singapore is NOT a racist country.
For the transportation wise, it almost accessible to anywhere using MRt or their bus system.

It is definitely a good place for studying.

I found Singaporeans to be very friendly. They go out of their way to show tourists their country. One feels very safe and welcome there. I enjoyed my visit there very much. Religion and race do not matter there whereas they do to a degree in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Plenty of tourist spots need time (days) to see and experience all. People are pretty friendly. Clean and bright, this is the time to visit Singapore, street lights, Christmas, shopping.

I myself is a foreign student, well Singaporeans are friendly.
It'll be better if you really can get along with them, for sure you won't feel homesick.
I love studying here in Singapore :D

Singapore is a multi race and religion countries...

Yes U can visit Malaysia and Indonesia easily and cheap...

There are many type of transport for U to choose from to Malaysia... AIR... SEA or LAND...

While to Bintan or Batam (Indonesia) U can take Ferry...

Other part of Indonesia U can use budget airline...

locals speak english on an everyday basis so you would not have the kinda language gap with locals you get when in Hk/China. So, it's great for foreign ppl!

Generally it does not matter what race or religion you have in Singapore. We like to practise tolerance towards others' religious and racial customs and therefore, keep our complaints to ourselves. It's quite hilarious actually, but yes, it is a good place to study. The only thing that may not go down well is your accent (if you have one), which Singaporean students tend to make fun of, and the usage of US English.

You can ask locals for help navigating around the island if need be. They are very, very approachable.

Yes, you can go to Malaysia or Indonesia as a local but for foreigners on a student permit, I am not sure.

hungrymons
Its a migrant society. Everyone is welcomed.

Singapore is definitely a good place for students as it is one of the safest and cleanest place to be in the world. As long as you have good habits of brushing your teeth clean and bathing regularly, the locals will not mind your race your religion. However, if you smell badly, I'm sure you'll be frowned upon and people will become unfriendly.

I am sure all 1st time visitors to Singapore will find it interesting. Yes, you may go to Malaysia and Indonesia easily from Singapore.

What do you mean by Friendly? Friendly by look, by concern or by action. In this world there is no such thing as total friendly......for a friend can becomes an enemy or an enemy can become a friend. Whatever you think, come and see it for yourself and sure you like it. Most tourists like it and foreign workers do not want to go home.

We don't call racist but we have racial harmony & religious toleration for all & everyone. We are all in a family, no worry about color and we share the 4 New Year of the 4 main races in the country. It is a beauty in life to see the garden environment, the clean land & air, the smiling faces of color and thinking of One Race, One People & One Nation. The phrase is used by other country too.

No problem to ASEAN countries.
