First, I resist the concept that we "belong" to anyone. Second, you made a commitment to the "wrong person " and when you made that commitment you thought they were the "right person". Just like you NOW think this new lust object is the "right person".

How do you know who's the right one. The answer also depends on what you mean by belong. Belonging to someone maynot be a bad thing. And well, if you think the new person is the right one, its a sad thing.
