i love to eat chocolate. and, i enjoy the chocolate taste. i don't think that chocolate will increase your weight. how can people say that if they eat chocolates then, he/she will become a fat person.

Chocolate is usually thought of as a sinful treat. Sure it tastes great, but all the sugar that goes into confectionary chocolate can make it hard on the arteries, not to mention the love handles. Well, have I got some wonderful news for you, especially if you are partial to dark chocolate.
In August 2003 it was shown in the scientific journal Nature that dark chocolate has substantial anti-oxidant properties. What does that mean? Anti-oxidants protect the heart and arteries from oxidative damage, which is analogous to the rust build up on a car over time. Unfortunately for milk-chocolate lovers, dairy mixed with chocolate actually counters this effect, so you can have only dark chocolate and not even a glass of milk with it if you want your body to reap all of the benefits.
A high level of consumption of black tea, which contains catechins, has for years now been considered a way to improve longevity and reduce the risk of heart disease. This new research on dark chocolate has shown that it contains at least four times the amount of these catechins per serving. Dutch researchers have concluded that the old Dutch habit of drinking a cup of tea with a chocolate cookie is not only enjoyable, but actually healthful. Of course, just like with alcohol consumption, moderation is key.
Professor Alan Crozier of Glasgow University has this to say on the subject: "I would advise moderate consumption, maybe a small bar of chocolate a day."
One little bar of the good stuff per day is just enough to get the anti-oxidants in, and keep the fat and cholesterol at bay.

i know that the milk in the chocolates that give you the extra fat..
but cocoa alone is not too fatty...
try dark/bittersweet chocolates if you fear on putting weight.it has less milk and sugar..

I've seen many Malaysians getting fat on nasi lemak, roti canai breakfast and mountains of rice for lunch and dinner. Then there is the never ending eating habits of the Chinese there gorging on pork ribs and offals herbal soup, and greasy hokkien noodles - all very very fattening food which are bad for health. But I guess they are loving it... it's a free country where eating seems to be a national past time.
Chocolates are much healthier and taken in moderation, should not pose any health problems at all. In fact it is a health food especially the dark chocolates which I recommend you eat instead of the lighter ones. |

It all comes down to calories. If you eat 2000 calories worth of chocolate a day, you're not going to gain any more weight than you would it you ate 2000 calories worth of vegetables a day. |

Eating chocolate can do good to your health, depending on which chocolate you consume. The problem about chocolates is the sugar contents. Our body takes longer time to digest sugary contents and the excess will be stored in your body fat which of course can make you plumper and stomach bloated. But chocolate itself has good remedies. Go for dark chocolates instead as it has more chocolate and less sugar. As with other foods, eat everything in moderation. |
