it's really nice. the weather here's usually warm and tropical but recently it's been bipolar. like some days are nice. cool, overcast and breezy. other days are like really hot and humid. then other days are like really heavy storms. so it's kinda hard to tell.
there are many nice hotels here like the penisula, shangri-la, discovery suites and more. my favorite is shangri-la. the hotels here are much cheaper than the ones in the U.S. though. actually EVERYTHING's cheaper. haha.
filipinos are also really nice. we're known for being really kind and hospitable.
there are also tons of gorgeous beaches in the philippines since we are like really really close to the equator. some of the best beaches are boracay, subic, punta fuego, bohol, cebu and palawan. you can google them. ;p boracay especially is known for its powdery sand beaches. seriously. they're like POWDER.
then there's money. the money's like 49 pesos to a dollar.
and there's something you must go to while you're here. there's a walking tour (i know sounds boring, right?) that's really amazing. no, it's not the regular walking tour. it's FANTASTIC. it's funny and realistic and really, really great. i'm sure you'll LOVE it. i don't know anyone who wouldn't!
here's a url:
http://celdrantours.blogspot.com/
his name is carlos celdran. he's really really good at what he does. you might also wanna google him so that you can see how good he is. google "Carlos Celdran walking tours"
anyway. if ever you visit, email me and tell me how it went.

I would say yes. It's really nice to stay in the Philippines and there's a lot people of different nationalities who opt to stay in the Philippines for their retirement. I have been to a lot of different countries and as i compare, i really love to stay in my home country. |

Depends what nice are you talking about. Like nice scenery, nice people or nice environment.
For the sceneries, the Philippines has one of the most beautiful sceneries in the world. We have the perfect cone-shaped volcano, Mayon Volcano; the world's famous beach, Boracay; Samal Island in Davao is really nice too; or you can see Chocolate Hills where the hills really look like chocolate droppings in Bohol; you can see a modern skyline in Metro Manila. So Philippine scenery is nice and beautiful.
For the people, the people are nice. Many are always smiling and Filipinos are known for their hospitality. When you go to their homes, you can experience how hospitable Filipinos are. Filipinos are nice.
Environment, of course it's also nice. with the nice sceneries and nice people, the environment is nice.
I hope you could come to visit the Philippines and enjoy your vacation here. |

it is nice!!!! very, very nice!!!...
...the beaches, the food, the tourist spots, the people, the culture, the fiestas, the shopping, and all...
the beaches and resorts are great...
the food is very delicious and tasty...
there are tons of tourist destinations to go to...
the people are generally hospitable and friendly... English is widely spoken...
the culture is very diverse... it's the combination of Chinese, Indigenous, Indian, Spanish, and American cultures... it's the mixtures of Oriental and Western cultures...
the fiestas, festivals, and parties are all over throughout the country almost everyday...
shopping is generally cheaper, yet has high qualities... |

Tagalog: Mabuhay! Welcome po kayo dito sa Pilipinas. Para sa akin, talagang maganda po dito sa Pilipinas. Ngunit mag-ingat po kayo dahil marami rin pong mga masasamang tao rito.
English: Long live! You are welcome here in the Philippines. For me, it is really really nice here in the Philippines. But beware because there are many bad guys here also. |

So-and-so, depending on the viewpoint of a person. For one who is just a temporary resident or visitor, the country is a nice place to relax in and hibernate however, for one who intends to stay permanently...there are a lot of pitfalls one should consider carefully before taking the plunge.
The country is beset by so many problems, the economy has not really improved but for some who believes it has or imagined it has improved with the appreciation of the peso and, of course, it is a lot different from what one is used to in his/her life. |
