Is it safe to travel to Malaysia?

We just heard the recent high profile murder involving world class political analyst and a beautiful model from Mongolia. But I believe Malaysia is a very peaceful country.

off course its safe my dear, news like that happens everywhere. As we know newspaper always give us bad news instead of good news. So forget about what murder! Go ahead come more often to Malaysia, it is definitely a very peaceful country.

Ken B
I am English and live in Malaysia, there is very little violent crime here - the comment about terrorists is rubbish - the case you mentioned was a man trying to cover up an affair which resulted in a pregnancy.

Andoryu.net
Can someone tell me which country in this world has the highest crime rate and murder rate? Bingo! so you do know huh?

Each country has crime problem and the problem these days is the media that make a big coverage out of it and the worst is to add spice and information which are not true. You should not simply trust the media. Anyway, if you ask me if Malaysia is safe or not, I would tell you it still is and always has been. If you have ever had experience travelling in other South East Asia countries (except Singapore), you will understand what I'm trying to tell you is true.

The basic rule of thumb when travelling, always be alert and do not trust anyone easily.

Absolutely safe, get ready for take off

Goodness..yes, of course!! I am Malaysian. And Malaysia is peaceful and safe compared to other countries. Cases like the Mongolian model's murder happens...every place has its danger. And yes, some of the policemen here are corrupted. Bribery happens. You just have to be careful wherever you go.

it's very safe compare to Thailand, Indonesia, Philipines, even to Mongolia itself. They got seven-eleven shop in Malaysia. No such shop in Mongolia, that's why. If you know what I mean

Definitely Safe, Malaysia have those multicultural that you can’t find in any others country. Why you ask so is because currently most of the medias around is making some story very huge. Huge till the world are concerning about it.
Every country definitely having their issues, and it’s just never being revealed so transparent to the world and even in the country itself, so do you still consider traveling to those countries?
