Oh, I would love to see a real monster. But how come they have not been covered by the news? I mean if the snakes found in the residential areas ("sawa") get a lot of TV footage every so often, surely a real MONSTER is more deserving of primetime TV. In fact theis footage will go around the world and should make it to CNN and even Al Jazeera.

This is Urban Legend...

Nice and interesting but I think there was no any evidence or any testimony of a living person who saw any of these rumors. I guess, they were exxagerated.

I agree, Chinese take care some snakes as housepets or as lucky charms, if they are really lucky charms. It might be possible that this is what others have seen and make an oral tradition out of it...

There were many Urban Legends that went on in Metro Manila like, a person injecting AIDS virus on people on moviehouses, men in racemotors who slash people's head, and children's blood or a worker's blood to be offered on new building being constructed, etc...

These are all untrue, until proven.

Sounds like a tall tale someone passed on only to scare young girls.

The Black Bass
It's a popular urban legend, yes. However, I doubt its veracity. Scientifically, it's highly improbable that there could exist a creature that is half-human and half-snake. Secondly, the creature's seeming preference to devour beautiful women only is just downright ridiculous; the stuff of fictional romantic horrors.

I've been hearing this story since I was around 6 or 7 years old (and I'm already 23 now) but nobody has proven, nor has anyone even put a logical and sensible supposition, to the creature's existence.

id been to the underground area and ask myself the same question.Maybe its just a rumor

UP to now honestly im asking the same question. is it 4 REAL?.. I have heard of that story about the half snake & half human located in Robinson's Galleria according to what i recall.... It was the twin of Robina owner of Robinsons. to keep the business lucky they have to continue feeding him with human girls they have something in the bathroom that will automatically drag to another room w/c would go directly to the half human half snake. A popular actress was even paid for her silence for she was almost victimized by it...

All I know stories have basis I just narrated what I was told when I was young. maybe to scare me i dont know.... I'm not sure if this is real though but hope not... I usually go there w/ my family...

Ariadne :
I wish somebody could take a picture of the monster if this is true. When a Robinson's opened near our school (in Laguna) a few years ago, "reliable" sources supposedly have seen the monster. So far he hasn't killed anybody but they said they have seen him in the parking lot, wearing a tux (no kidding!) and getting into a luxury car. They said he has a head of a snake and a body of a man.

P.S. Okay, I know the story sounds silly but back then I was soo scared and there was no way you could get me to go to the Robinson's parking lot. I was soooo gullible!

I heard about this story before. I don't know if this is true or not but I have a friend who said that this so called monster who is half human and half snake is the twin brother of the son who owns Robinson Malls. They said mirrors in womens fitting rooms serves as the "monsters" window to choose his victim. I also heard that mall closing time. Usually a helicopter would land in the roof deck of Robinsons with all lights being shut off because the "monster" will board the chopper and go home to their mansion.

I've heard that tale over and over again for so long now, not only in Robinsons but other malls as well, including the ones in Davao, Cebu, Iloilo, etc.

I've known though that Chinese do grow snakes since they consider it lucky for business, but that's all.

SNL
that's not true for i am still alive. hmmmppp.

Thats urban legend, I practically laugh the first time I heard it... maybe the monster should evacuate to Shang, trinoma or Greenbelt, Robinson is for the old people now a days, lol

Maybe you should ask Alice Dixson.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Jim Fernandez, the famous comics scriptwriter, wrote of "Anak ni Zuma" (Zuma's child), a man sporting twin snakes atop his shoulders, and whose main dish is the heart of virgins. Either the urban legend of Robinson's was borrowed from this, or the author could have it in mind. There is also the possibility this story was generated by business rivals to discredit the Robinson's chain, which for sometime was trying to wrestle control of San Miguel Corporation.
From Wikepedia:
John Gokongwei, Jr. (å´å¥•辉, born 1927 in Cebu City) is a Filipino businessman with holdings in telecom, financial services, petrochemicals, power, aviation and hog farming. In 2005, he was listed by Forbes as the 34th richest person in Southeast Asia, with a fortune of US$425 million. Some say that the Forbes estimate of Mr. Gokongwei's fortune is very low, considering his large business portfolio.

He is the chairman of JG Summit Holdings, one of largest conglomerates in the Philippines. Some estimates his fortune at a very conservative $4.5 billion well above the $425 million that Forbes estimates. In 2005, his company had spent $700 million of internally generated funds for buying new aircraft for his airline, Cebu Pacific Air, the second largest carrier in the Philippines. From 2003 up to the present his telecom arm Digitel Telecommunication has spent nearly $800 million for its mobile unit Sun Cellular which is now 3rd largest mobile operator in the Philippines. He is in talks right now for his possible $1 billion takeover of UIC a property giant from Singapore which he owns more than 30% already. UIC controls Singapore Land one of the biggest property landlord in singapore. Gokongwei also owns Universal Robina Corporation, largest manufacturer of snacks in the Philippines and the maker of the very successful C2 green tea drink in the country. He also controls Robinsons Land one of the biggest property concerns in the Philippines that operates the Robinsons Malls.

He was born into a wealthy Cebu-based family, originally from China's Fujian province. The family fortune was lost when his affluent father died. He started his business career during World War II, buying and selling rice, cloth and scrap metal. He is married, and has six children. His only son Lance Gokongwei is now in charge of the Gokongwei Empire serving as president and COO while his father serves as Chairman Emeritus.

Errata: In a rare flash of sobriety, I suddenly remember that "Anak ni Zuma" (Zuma's child) is a sequel in a trilogy. The first was only "Zuma" (the child of Kukulkan, the Serpent God), followed by this one, and the third one is about the "apo" (grandchild), I think, who sports a Dinosaur head, and is apty called "Dino".

the italian idol
robinson galleria was put up only in 1980s. the legend started way back. maybe shoemart or ayala started it to discourage shoppers to go to robinsons. take sun cellular, also of robinson group, was butt of jokes as having no signal in evening or rainy days.
